Big QB Movers

Brock Purdy – 15th (Previously 18th)

Brock Purdy is putting up 23 points per game on an offense that is deploying the lowest passing volume in the league. It’s not as if those points are thanks to his 2.9 rushing points per game.

Purdy has simply been one of the league’s most efficient quarterbacks. His 10.7 adjusted yards per attempt ranks first among all quarterbacks, with a 6.6 percent touchdown rate and 9.3 yards per attempt.

Purdy isn’t a top-12 dynasty quarterback, but the passing peripherals he’s put up signal toward him being one of the league’s better passers.

Jared Goff – 16th (Previously 19th)

Jared Goff’s tremendous start might be going under the radar, but we are noticing. His 22.4 points per game currently place him as the 10th highest-scoring quarterback, and his peripherals back up his strong start.

He has an 8.2 adjusted yards per attempt, which ranks sixth among all quarterbacks, and an 8.0 yards per attempt, which ranks fourth. While he lacks the rushing production to be a high-end option, his strong passing production points to him being an undervalued option.

Big RB Movers

De’Von Achane – 4th (Previously 7th)

It’s another week of De’Von Achane moving up the rankings. Despite his recent injury, his production and peripherals are too good to leave him out of the premier running backs. After four games, he has 25.4 points per game with a whopping 4.26 yards per team rush attempt.

For reference on how insane that is, it’s the highest yards per team rush attempt of all running backs while coming off just the 39th-highest carry percentage. With him being a rookie, there is tons of value insulation, even if he misses a significant amount of time. This makes him a safe bet, with one of the highest upsides at the position.

David Montgomery – 21st (Previously 24th)

David Montgomery’s production on the ground is helping get him to more than 20 points per game through the first five weeks. He’s holding the sixth-highest carry percentage and the eighth-highest yards per team rush attempt.

But his receiving profile and sub-10 percent target share aren’t quite as strong as his rushing profile. While he is an unlikely candidate to be a 20-point-per-game scorer across a full season, he doesn’t need to be the primary receiver out of the backfield to be productive.

Tyjae Spears – 35th (Previously 40th)

While Derrick Henry is still in Tennessee, Tyjae Spears has shown enough for us to get excited about his profile. He’s coming off a week where we scored 16.9 points while handling 31.8 percent of the carries for 1.55 yards per team rush attempt.

Even more exciting is he put up a 14.3 percent target share in Week 5 to give him a 13.2 percent target share on the season. That’s the ninth-highest share among all running backs. He might not have an immediate projection to high-end production, but we’ve seen enough to excite us about rostering Spears.

Big WR Movers

Puka Nacua – 8th (Previously 12th)

Puka Nacua continues climbing the rankings and stacking solid performances. He is now the all-time rookie leader for the most targets through the first five games. More importantly, we saw him post a 29.7 percent target share alongside a now-healthy Cooper Kupp

As long as consensus refuses to treat Nacua as a top-12 dynasty wide receiver, we will continue buying a rookie with the second-highest target share in the league. This has helped him produce the fourth-highest points per game with 22.7, and there aren’t any signs of his production stalling.

DJ Moore – 23rd (Previously 29th)

DJ Moore is coming off a week where he just put up 49 points, thanks to a 34.5 percent target share and a whopping 7.93 yards per team pass attempt. Coming into the season, Moore’s ability to be a strong peripheral producer wasn’t in question.

However, whether Justin Fields could support a high-end fantasy wide receiver was. We still can’t say with certainty whether he can, but Moore’s production from Thursday points to it being more plausible than initially believed.

George Pickens – 24th (Previously 33rd)

George Pickens can be a near-alpha target earner with Diontae Johnson sidelined. He’s posting a 24.4 percent target share and 2.4 yards per team pass attempt in his second season. Those are the 19th and 15th highest marks among all wide receivers.

Despite being in a poor Kenny Pickett–led offense, these peripherals have helped land Pickens as the 19th-highest-scoring wide receiver. The real question is whether these peripherals continue to be as strong with Johnson ready to return. There is doubt this offense can support multiple productive wide receivers.

30 30.7 Years Old Tyler Higbee Los Angeles Rams
31 26.8 Years Old Dawson Knox Buffalo Bills

Big TE Movers

Cole Kmet – 8th (Previously 15th)

Cole Kmet has been far better than projected in his first five games, posting the fifth-highest fantasy output for a tight end with 14.7 points per game, coming off a 21.7 percent target rate and 1.72 yards per route run on a modest 6.9 average depth of target.

This is similar to T.J. Hockenson’s peripherals, except Kmet’s performance is coming on an eight percent lower route participation. But the critical piece is that Kmet’s peripherals are strong enough for this production to be sustainable for the rest of the season.

Dalton Kincaid – 9th (Previously 7th)

Dalton Kincaid has not been a strong producer in the first five games of his rookie year, and the underlying peripherals aren’t much better. While a 14.3 percent target rate is OK, 0.89 yard per route run, especially in a high-powered Josh Allen offense, is not.

The most frightening aspect of Kincaid’s profile is his average target depth of 4.2. There have been 27 rookie tight ends to post a sub-5.0 average depth of target, and none has ever posted at least a 17-point per-game season. It’s a problematic start for Kincaid.
