If you don’t have one of the three top options on this week’s slate, you’re going to have to dip into some volatile plays. We’ll preview all of those options, before finalizing our survivor pool analysis in Ryan Reynold’s Saturday morning betting preview. You can also check out our survivor pool channel in our free Discord.

Week 14 Survivor Pool Picks

Miami Dolphins (vs. Tennessee Titans)

Spread: Dolphins -13

We all know the Miami Dolphins’ offense is among the league’s best, having scored 79 points over its past two games. More importantly, the defense continues to play like a top-10 unit. Since its Week 10 bye, Miami has been a team that can win games in multiple phases. If you still have the Dolphins in survivor, they have two more matchups against sub-.500 teams, and they are the top survivor option this week.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 15 vs. NYJ

Baltimore Ravens (vs. Los Angeles Rams)

Spread: Ravens -7.5

The Baltimore Ravens are coming off their bye to host a Los Angeles Rams team that’s on a three-game winning streak. Matthew Stafford’s offense has scored 73 points over its past two games, including 36 against Cleveland.

While Stafford is dangerous, Baltimore has been one of the most consistent teams throughout this century. The Ravens also have a more well-rounded roster than the Rams. This is the best spot to use Baltimore through the rest of the year.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 18 vs. PIT

San Francisco 49ers (vs. Seattle Seahawks)

Spread: 49ers -11.5

San Francisco is the best, most complete team in football. The 49ers have won three of their past four games by three scores or more, and all of those decisive wins came against quality teams, including the Seattle Seahawks.

Entering this matchup, the Seahawks are coming off a long week and are the far more desperate team. In most situations, we’d prefer to hold the San Francisco 49ers for one of their looming matchups against softer opponents.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 15 at ARI, Week 17 at WAS

Houston Texans (at New York Jets)

Spread: Texans -6

Generally, you want to avoid dome teams playing a December road game against a premium defense. In this instance, the New York Jets have one of the three worst offenses in football, while Houston’s defense has driven some of its success.

In other words, if you play the Houston Texans this week, you’re not completely reliant on C.J. Stroud. If you’re holding Houston, it still plays the Tennessee Titans twice, but the Texans host Tennessee in Week 17.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 17 vs. TEN

Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. New England Patriots)

Spread: Steelers -6

The Pittsburgh Steelers cannot be trusted, as we saw last week in Pittsburgh during their decisive loss to the Arizona Cardinals. That level of volatility is worse going forward with Mitch Trubisky under center in place of the injured Kenny Pickett. That said, the New England Patriots were just shut out at home by the Los Angeles Chargers. If you’re in dire straits, Pittsburgh is playable Thursday night.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 16 vs. CIN

New Orleans Saints (vs. Carolina Panthers)

Spread: Saints -5.5

The Carolina Panthers fired their head coach and several assistants early last week. A few days later, they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by three points in Tampa.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints are one of the league’s most underachieving teams. They have the raw materials to blow out the Panthers, with Derek Carr or Jameis Winston at quarterback. Week 15’s home game against the Giants is another great game for New Orleans.

Best Remaining Matchups: Week 15 vs. NYG
