Missed the majority of senior year of HS with a groin injury which was later re-aggravated. Awarded a medical redshirt in 2018 for a broken foot, missing the entire season. Missed two more games in 2019 for an undisclosed injury and was lost after 5 games in 2020 after ankle surgery. Arrested days before the 2021 season for unlawful carrying of a weapon, failure to identify/giving false information, less than two ounces of marijuana possession, and an outstanding warrant for driving with an invalid license from May 2021. Mental

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Slow to ID R/P. Lacks effort against Run, getting easily displaced by OL and some TE. Doesn't love contact, getting mentally worn down against top competition and failing to initiate. Loses ballcarrier in the backfield when engaged, consistently conceding contain. Slides to avoid pulling OL, leaving empty lanes. Once beaten to the corner on Outside Run, rarely chases down.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Long arms that can dig out leveraged OL with outstanding play strength and above the line punch placement. Uses length to stack consistently. Against Pass, doesn't show pop from hands, but rather from transferring power through hips and core. Outstanding Bullrush and above the line Speed-to-Power with momentum, off-balancing OL with punch and continuing to drive backwards. In Speed moves, quick & violent hands, favoring a jump to threaten inside then a Swipe/Rip combo to turn the corner. Flashed a Spin in final game of season. Uses length, violence, and strength to secure tackles. … Slow off the LOS, especially from 2-pt stance, and needs a run-up to build momentum in order to hold ground v Run. Blown back at POA by OL and some TEs. Surprisingly slow to Shed due to weaker effort and processing. Hit-or-miss with Swipe/Rip move, failing to recover when failing to clear arms with Swipe. Slow when he has to process, fails to impact play. Displays average ankle flexibility to turn the corner. Average closing speed, slow to pursue and frequently side-stepped by QB without COD to recover.

No-star recruit from HS who enrolled at Cisco JUCO after missing his final two HS seasons due to moving states and a groin injury. Redshirting at Cisco in 2015, he started all 6 games in 2016 and was named a four-star JUCO recruit. Transferring to Texas A&M, he played in all 13 games of 2017 and started the final two contests. In 2018, he was awarded a medical redshirt for a foot injury that cost him the entire season. Came back to start nine games the following year, missing two games for an undisclosed injury and missing all-but 5 games in 2020 due to ankle surgery. Arrested prior to the 2021 season on a littany of charges, ultimately missing one game. At the conclusion of the season, was given the Defensive MVP Award, Defensive Leadership Award, and Top Conditioned Athlete Award while honored as a team captain. Under DC Mike Elko (fourth season) and DEs Coach Terry Price (tenth season), player is a 7/9 tech in a 4-3 who moves inside to 3-tech in obvious pass for the #3 scoring defense, #14 total defense, #17 pass defense, and #37 run defense. Developmental 4-3 DE you can win despite from a 7/9-tech in obvious passing downs. Powerful, lengthy EDGE and initiator who flashes quick, violent hands and a dominant bullrush. Unathletic in space, slows to a crawl when forced to process or react, getting displaced and making poor decisions. Horrendous injury history and is one of the oldest prospects.
