Build

Does he have prototype size? What is body type? What is growth potential?

Paschal has a bulky and very built frame. He is well filled out and likely will not be able to add much more weight to his average height. However, he moves and carries 280 lbs well. Not measured but his length appears to be below-average to average. Was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in 2018 and missed the majority of the season but returned and has been healthy ever since.

Mental

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Paschal is a tough player who plays with a lot of juice. He battles on the inside and plays fiery. He has above the line instincts as he has a feel for when blockers are leaning to quickly shed them. He also takes advantage of numerous backdoor opportunities when running stunts.

Athleticism

Does he have the athletic traits you want?

Very explosive out of his stance with very quick feet. Adequate short-area speed and has been fast enough to chase down ball carriers. Quick feet allow him to change direction adequately. Strong lower and upper body to deliver a pop in his punch and anchor in during blocks. ... Flexible enough to play low but has a very hard time bending the corner and accelerating around the bend. Body control is average, as there have been some contact balance issues from time to time.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Aligns in a funky looking, even 3 point stance, but is very explosive and low out of said stance. Hands move quickly from ground to target and are very accurate on his strikes, as they are tight in the blocker's chest to make up for his arm length disadvantage. Strikes are strong and aggressive, as he generates a lot of pop from his punch. Hands are always active as he demonstrates a number of effective escapes, such as a push/pull or quick arm-over. As a pass rusher, he has the most success on rushes where he is stunting or covering the penetrator. He is very twitchy and bursts hard out of his plant foot, before delivering an effective stab or hump counter to get pressure on the QB. ... His lack of length can lead him to have a hard time knocking back or disengaging from the blocker. If his hands are wide or he does not fire out quick enough, which has happened, he puts himself at a large disadvantage. Due to his lack of length and ability to bend the corner, his pass rush ceiling is limited, as he should continue to add more moves to his repertoire.

Summary

What role does he play? What is his initial projection?
Paschal went through a lot of adversity in 2018 when he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. However, he fought very hard and battled back to the field and has been improving as a football player ever since. He is a powerful, explosive, well-built, and very disruptive force on the interior. That said, he lacks the length and flexibility to be considered a traditional edge rusher at the next level. He is an outstanding run defender and an average pass rusher at this time and that may be the same at the next level. He is very versatile in his alignments but can play as an early-down 5T in a 4-3 or a 4i in a 3-4. He fits best as a starting 4i in an attacking 3-4 where he can show off his first-step lateral quickness on stunts being very disruptive against the run and generating pressure on the QB.
