Build

Does he have prototype size? What is body type? What is growth potential?

Thick build and rocked up throughout his body. Above the line size for the position. Adequate length but want to confirm this with combine measurements. Hasn't had any issues with durability, hasn't missed any significant time with injury.

Mental

Shows adequate toughness when taking on blockers and runners, played through minor injury during season opener (Wisconsin). Effort and motor are above the line–plays full speed on essentially every snap and shows maximum effort.

Athleticism

Does he have the athletic traits you want?

Brisker is a plus athlete for his size and moves fluidly. Shows above the line explosiveness when pursuing plays and planting and driving towards ball carriers. Has above the line speed and shows it when chasing down plays (a couple of examples against Ohio State). Has above the line body control and moves fluidly. Average flexibility and bend, mainly shown in his stiff ankles. Adequate change of direction and sometimes will take one or two, too many steps when changing directions. Adequate play strength, runners will sometimes break through his tackles.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Brisker's pre-snap stance is high. Post snap he's adequate against the run when plays are run inside the box. His hip fluidity is adequate and will sometimes struggle flipping them in coverage and when he's chasing plays horizontally. Above the line burst to close, closes on ball carriers and plays quickly. Above the line plant and drive as well, showing up most when he's driving on passes or plays that are underneath him. When he meets ball carriers he does so with adequate burst. Tackles best inside the tackles. In open space he has trouble tackling one on one, and shows a tendency to bite at ankles. Doesn't sink his hips well when backpedaling in coverage which leads him to be an average backpedaler. Adequate in coverage because he can be over eager and bite on passes to try and make a play. Shows above the line ball skills in coverage due to above the line burst to close and length. Plays the ball well.

Summary

What role does he play? What is his initial projection?
Brisker was a two year starter (21 starts) and current super senior. His thick and rocked up body give him above the line size. He projects best to a strong safety role due to his adequate ability in run support and adequate ability in coverage. He's at his best when he's playing underneath. He tackles best when inside the box and between the tackles. Shows the toughness to take on blockers. Has the athletic profile to cover TEs and RBs in man coverage. As an underneath coverage defender he's at his best when he's able to read a QBs eyes and plant and drive on passes. Can and will get burnt if he continues to be over eager in coverage at the next level. If he's able to control himself in coverage he has above the line ball skills and size to be a nickel defender as well. His athletic profile, physicality, ball skills, and special teams experience give him a higher floor and ceiling than many. Early 3rd round grade and projects as an immediate nickel safety with upside to become a starting strong safety.
