Mental

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Calls out blitzes pre-snap well and has some agency in a heavy-motion offense. Diagnoses coverages pre-snap extremely well and knows his reads. Adequate feel in the pocket. Flashes split-second instincts to break a tackle or get down for protection. Shows effort to chase down turnovers… Starts to panic and fall apart with repeated pressures, speeding up drop on subsequent plays and losing confidence in his reads. Doesn't show the comfort to step up in the pocket. Fails to consistently engage lower body in quick-game throws due to effort, causing inaccuracy. Freezes when deciphering entirely unexpected situation.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

From the pocket, shows above the line anticipation and understanding of coverage development, consistently makes good decisions with the ball. Looks off defenders well and can snap through half-field progressions quickly, flashing ability to open up read post-snap to the full field when 8+ defenders drop into coverage. When body is fully engaged in throw, drives through hips well with above the line torque and shoulders to unlock above the line arm strength. Knows when to use touch on throws and shows adequate ability to vary speed. Can use above the line foot speed to break the pocket and eats up undefended space quickly. Flashes ability to launch throws on run with accuracy. Infrequently in clutch situations without noticeable change… Highly inconsistent footwork in straight drop, especially struggling to consistently bounce back with balance step towards the pocket and will instead gently angle away from pressure or overdrop out of pocket entirely. Frequently double clutches/pump fakes, away from body and engages legs/core in the fake, requiring full body reset to actually make fully-engaged throw. Slow to reset his body in this position due to slow feet, instead throwing inaccurate passes with arm- or upper-body only. When body is not fully engaged in throw, limited arm strength. Elongated motion. Limited accuracy that rarely allows receiver to gain YAC. Average throw on run ability with inconsistent accuracy due to varied arm angles. Some instances of receivers getting easily upset with player.
