Will ‘Well Enough’ From Cooper Rush Be Good Enough For Cowboys?

After losing Dak Prescott in Sunday night’s season opener against the Buccaneers, Rich Gannon evaluates the Cowboys’ quarterback options until Prescott can return.
Gannon believes Cowboys backup QB Cooper Rush is a serviceable fill-in until Prescott is back. He breaks down Rush’s strengths and weaknesses as an NFL-caliber starter. Rush, who starred at Central Michigan before being signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2017, would do in the interim, but Gannon acknowledges that Dallas will — and should — look to upgrade during Prescott’s absence.
“I think the game is simply moving too fast for a guy that doesn’t have a ton of reps and experience under center,” Gannon said.
Will Dallas find a veteran to bring in, or will they stick with Rush moving forward?
