Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Tank Dell is feared to have suffered a fractured fibula that will sideline him indefinitely.

The injury occurred late in the first quarter when Texans RB Dameon Pierce rushed for a 3-yard touchdown, putting Houston up 9-0. Dell, who was blocking on the play, had his leg caught in a pile of defenders. He had to be carted to the locker room and was later ruled out.

Dell has been one of the top rookies in the league this season, totaling 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns.

Houston defeated Denver 22-17, improving to 7-5. The Texans are on the bubble for an AFC playoff spot.
