Ravens' Marcus Williams Injured in Primetime

The Baltimore Ravens' defensive backs faced a tough challenge on Sunday night against Cincinnati's offense, and that challenge became tougher after an injury to starting safety Marcus Williams. Williams suffered a wrist injury during the first half of the game, and was ruled doubtful to return.

Panthers Dealing With Another QB Injury

Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield was in a walking boot following his team's Week 5 loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday. Mayfield played all but the final drive for Carolina, with P.J. Walker entering for the team's final series. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined. Should Mayfield miss time, Walker is in line to start for the team, with Sam Darnold still recovering from a preseason injury.

James Conner Leaves for Cardinals

Arizona had to finish its game against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles without oft-injured running back James Conner. The sixth-year running back left with a rib injury just before the end of the first half, and the team deemed him questionable to return near the end of the third quarter. Conner did not return to the contest.

Younger Bosa Out With Groin Injury

The San Francisco 49ers lost star edge rusher Nick Bosa to a groin injury during the team's Week 5 game against Carolina, and the team has ruled him out for the remainder of the contest. Bosa led the NFL in sacks so far this season, with six through four games. He also missed all but two games of the 2020 season with a torn ACL. The team is going to further evaluate the injury tomorrow.

Eagles Dealt Pair of Temporary Injuries to O-Line

The Philadelphia Eagles will have their offensive line depth tested to its extremes in Week 5. Already down starting tackle Jordan Mailata, the Eagles lost a pair of interior stalwarts in the first half against the Cardinals. The first was guard Landon Dickerson, who suffered a leg injury and was ruled questionable to return. Dickerson played on the left side, the same as Mailata. Dickerson returned to the game just before the end of the third quarter.

Then, in the middle of the second quarter, it was one of the team's leaders who left the game, when Jason Kelce hobbled off under his own power and went to the team's locker room. Not long before that, Kelce had to go to the blue medical tent, but returned to the field without missing an offensive snap. In similar fashion, Kelce charged out of the tunnel later in the game, returning to the field a second time.

Rashaad Penny Suffers Fractured Tibia in Loss to Saints

The Seattle Seahawks will be without their leading rusher moving forward. Rashaad Penny, who left with a leg injury in the early third quarter against the Saints, was diagnosed after the game with a fractured tibia. The team has not determined whether surgery is required.

Tyreek Hill in Walking Boot After Late Foot Injury

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was spotted in a walking boot following his Week 5 game against the New York Jets. According to head coach Mike McDaniel, Hill's foot was stepped on during a late play in that contest, and the team initially announced his return was questionable. Hill was dealing with a quad injury this week, and McDaniel also said he had been managing an issue with his calf, as well.

Bridgewater Removed From Game by New Concussion Protocols

Miami Dolphins quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (elbow, neck) became one of the first players to be kept from returning to a game by the league's new concussion protocols. Bridgewater was initially ruled out of Sunday's game against the New York Jets after being removed following a hit on the team's first offensive play.

Bridgewater passed his concussion testing but was still held out because of the new NFL-NFLPA concussion protocol, and what the ATC spotter saw from Bridgewater when he got hit, including him stumbling, NFL Media reported. Under the new protocol, ataxia is a "no-go to return," a main symptom of which can be a player stumbling after being hit.

Bridgewater was hit hard by Jets' cornerback Ahmad Gardner and was immediately removed from the field and taken to the locker room. He committed intentional grounding in the end zone on the play, resulting in a safety, which put the Jets ahead, 2-0.

Bridgewater was already filling in for Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a concussion last Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals and whose Week 3 and 4 injuries led to the change in concussion protocol. Skylar Thompson, a seventh-round pick from Kansas State, entered the game at quarterback.

Patriots' Damien Harris Out of Game vs. Lions

The New England Patriots ruled running back Damien Harris out of the team's Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury. Harris had taken four carries for 11 yards and caught one pass for a single yard before leaving with the injury during the first half. New England ruled him out midway through the third quarter.

Lions' Cornerback Savion Smith (neck) Taken to Hospital

Detroit Lions cornerback Savion Smith was taken to a local hospital in Foxboro and is being evaluated for a neck injury. Smith left Sunday's game in an ambulance after he landed awkwardly trying to guard Patriots tight end Hunter Henry. Smith was joined by family members, who were picked out of the stands to ride with him on the way to the hospital.

Saints' Chris Olave Ruled Out

New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Chris Olave was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with a concussion, the team reported. Olave was swung down hard after catching a pass in the end zone, which was eventually ruled a touchdown after review. Olave won the Offensive Rookie of the Month award for September, and the Saints are already without wide receiver Michael Thomas.
