Herbert Starts for Chargers
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert started on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars after dealing with a rib cartilage injury during the week. Herbert was ruled a game-time decision and was limited at practice all week.
Backup quarterbacks Chase Daniel and Easton Stick were both active for the game. ESPN reported Herbert had the option to get a pain injection shot for the game. Herbert had a pain shot done during the week that had mixed results. It was unknown whether he took one before the game
Before the game, analyst Marc Trestman of The 33rd Team wrote that the Chargers should have kept Herbert sidelined.
"Part of the reason I feel this way is because, like many coaches, I lived with this earlier in my assistant coaching career when doctors were convinced that a pain-deadening shot would allow our quarterback to throw pain-free, with no further injury complications," Trestman wrote. "But, in this instance, the shot did not work and our quarterback had to leave early in the game."
Bills' Josh Allen Has X-Ray on Hand
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had X-rays for an apparent right hand injury following the team's 21-19 loss against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the Buffalo News reported. Allen completed 42 passes and threw for 400 yards and two passing touchdowns in the losing effort. He also ran for 47 yards on 8 carries.
Allen left the X-ray room and said he was feeling "fine," ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg reported.
Tua Tagovailoa Leads Comeback After Leaving Injured
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa returned from an injury to lead the Dolphins to a 21-19 comeback win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Tagovailoa was taken to the locker room after a late hit from Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano in the second quarter, visibly stumbling on the field and needing assistance in walking off.
Miami initially deemed him questionable to return, but Tagovailoa returned to play the entirety of the second half and help Miami move to 3-0 on the season. After the game, it was reported that the NFLPA will be conducting an investigation into how the Dolphins handled Tagovailoa's concussion check following that injury.

David Montgomery Injured on Bears' Second Drive
Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery was injured on the team's second drive of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans and did not return. Montgomery was in pass protection when a defender fell into the back of his leg. After an evaluation in the medical tent Montgomery went to the locker room.
