Hall of Fame Quarterback, Super Bowl XXXI Champion, three-time NFL MVP

Brett Favre is a Hall of Fame quarterback who played 20 seasons (1991-2010) and won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers and three league MVPs (1995-1997).

A three-time All-Pro who was chosen for 11 Pro Bowls  Favre made the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. His Ironman string for the quarterback position saw Favre make 297  consecutive starts – 321 including playoffs. 

Favre played college football at Southern Miss and was drafted in the second round in 1991 by the Atlanta Falcons. After serving as a backup for a season, Favre was traded to Green Bay, where he spent most of his illustrious career. He spent 16 seasons in Green Bay, winning seven division titles and the one Super Bowl. The Packers reached another Super Bowl the next year. 

Known for his gunslinging style, Favre was a fan favorite with the Packers, then was traded in 2008 to the New York Jets. The Jets went 9-7 in Favre’s lone season with them. He spent his final two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, guiding them to the NFC Championship Game in 2009 while also enjoying one of his best statistical seasons.

Favre finished his career with 508 passing touchdowns and 71,838 passing yards. At the time of his retirement, Favre held several major NFL records: passing yards, passing touchdowns, and quarterback wins. 

After his playing career, Favre was a broadcast analyst for his alma mater, Southern Miss, when it played Rice in 2011. He also worked with NFL Network for coverage of Super Bowl XLVII.

Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi and attended Hancock North Central High, where he played baseball and football. He played quarterback, lineman, safety, kicker, and punter in high school.
