The Las Vegas Raiders are hiring former Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco for the same role.

Telesco was fired by the Chargers this past season after a 63-21 loss to the Raiders, which dropped the team to 5-11 on the season.

He spent 11 years with the organization before being fired along with coach Brandon Staley. The Chargers went 84-92 under Telesco, making the playoffs three times with two playoff victories. He was the GM for three head coaches: Mike McCoy (2013-2016), Anthony Lynn (2018-2020) and Staley (2021-2023).

Telesco now will work with Antonio Pierce, who was officially hired as Raiders coach on Friday.

Interim general manager Champ Kelly and Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds were the other finalists for the job. Owner Mark Davis ended up going with someone experienced to work with a first-time head coach.

The Raiders own the No. 11 overall pick in the draft and are projected to have more than $40 million in cap space this offseason.
