Packers Trade OL Cole Van Lanen to Jaguars
The Green Bay Packers traded OL Cole Van Lanen to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday for an unconditional seventh-round pick in next year's draft.
Van Lanen is a native of Green Bay who played collegiately at Wisconsin. He was drafted by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft but appeared in just one game for his hometown team last season.
Van Lanen was part of a crowded Green Bay offensive line group that grew even larger this offseason when the team added Zach Tom and Sean Rhyan in the draft. Rhyan, a third-round pick out of UCLA, and Tom, a fourth-round pick out of Wake Forest, bring depth to a unit that already boasts two Pro Bowl players and a number of other experienced options.
