Golden Tate is a former NFL wide receiver who played for 11 seasons. Tate made the Pro Bowl in 2014 as a member of the Detroit Lions and is a Super Bowl XLVII champion with the Seattle Seahawks.
Tate began his NFL career in 2010 when he was drafted in the second round by the Seattle Seahawks. Following his four-year stint in Seattle that ended with a Super Bowl ring, Tate joined the Detroit Lions. Tate had his best season in 2014 with the Lions in which he recorded 1,331 yards receiving on 99 catches, and was selected to the Pro Bowl. Tate later appeared with the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants.
Tate finished his NFL career with 695 catches, 8,278 yards receiving and 46 receiving touchdowns.
Tate attended the University of Notre Dame where he was a Unanimous All-American and received the Biletnikoff Award after his 2009 season in which he had 1,496 yards receiving and 15 touchdowns.
Tate grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and was a three-sport athlete at Pope John Paul II High School.
Tate was drafted by the MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants early in his football career but never ended up signing with either team. In June of 2022, Tate signed with the Port Angeles Lefties to play outfield in the West Coast League.
