Seahawks Jamal Adams to Miss Remainder of Season with Torn Quad

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn quad. According to NFL Media, Adams will require surgery don't the injury but is still deciding on a timeframe for the procedure. Adams now heads to injured reserve to free up his roster spot which is being filled by the team signing Teez Tabor off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad.

Steelers Place T.J. Watt on Injured Reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed linebacker T.J. Watt on injured reserve officially meaning he will miss at minimum the next four weeks. This comes according to NFL Media who also adds that the expected time for Watt to miss remains at six weeks. In the meantime, the team has signed David Anenih who had been on the Tennessee Titans practice squad.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

Broncos Place Simmons on IR

Broncos place safety Justin Simmons on injured reserve. Simmons will miss at least four weeks with a thigh injury. The Broncos have promoted CB Essang Bassey to their active roster. Sunday’s matchup against the Texans will be the first game Simmons has missed since 2017.

Chargers Rule Out Allen

The Chargers will be without star wide receiver Keenan Allen on Thursday when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Allen was officially ruled out Wednesday, leaving the Chargers without one of their most gifted offensive playmakers. Now in his ninth season with the Chargers, Allen is a five-time Pro Bowler and finished in the top ten in catches (110) in 2021.

Dobbins Full Participant at Practice Wednesday

Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins was a full participant at practice Wednesday. Dobbins is coming off a knee injury, and is trending in the right direction to play this week against Miami.

Winston Limited at Practice (Back)

Saints quarterback Jameis Winston was limited at practice today due to a back injury he sustained in Sunday’s game. All signs point to Winston starting Week 2 against the Buccaneers.

Patriots’ Jones Expects to Play Sunday (Back)

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was a full participant Wednesday after injuring his back on Sunday. Jones says he feels good and expects to play Sunday.

Kittle Not Practicing (Groin)

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says TE George Kittle will not practice Wednesday. Shanahan is hopeful Kittle will be ready for their Week 2 matchup against the Seahawks.

Butker Officially Ruled Out

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker will miss the team's game Thursday Night against the Los Angeles Chargers. Former Jets kicker Matt Amendola is expected to replace Butker while he recovers.

Bears Place Leatherwood on Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears placed offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood on injured reserve Wednesday. The former first-round pick is dealing with mononucleosis and will miss at least the next four weeks. Leatherwood was taken by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2021 NFL Draft but was waived at the end of training camp this off-season.

Colts WR Pierce Enters Concussion Protocol

The Indianapolis Colts could be without wide receiver Alec Pierce next week. The rookie wideout entered the concussion protocol Wednesday, per NFL Media. Pierce was the Colts' second-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft after an exceptional career at the University of Cincinnati. Pierce failed to record a catch in his first professional game, a 20-20 tie with the Houston Texans in Week 1.

Lions Sign RB Jackson to Active Roster

The Detroit Lions signed running back Justin Jackson to a contract on Wednesday, to further supplement a talented group of runners. Jackson played four seasons for the Los Angeles Chargers after being drafted by the club in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Jackson finished the 2021 season with career highs in rushing attempts (68), yards rushing (364), and yards receiving (178) despite starting only two games for the Chargers. The former Northwestern runner joins a talented backfield alongside D'Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams, and Craig Reynolds.

Giants' CB Robinson Has Appendix Removed, Ruled Out for Week 2

New York Giants cornerback Aaron Robinson had his appendix removed on Wednesday, according to ESPN. Robinson started at CB for the Giants in a Week 1 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The former third-round pick out of UCF was selected by New York in the 2021 NFL Draft but started only two games as a rookie. His sophomore campaign has stalled as well. Robinson will miss the Giants' Week 2 contest against the Carolina Panthers, the team's home opener.

Players of the Week Announced

The NFC and AFC players of the week were announced on Wednesday, with superstars Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley leading the pack. Mahomes threw 5 touchdown passes on Sunday, leading the Chiefs to a victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Barkley, meanwhile, led the NFL in rushing, compiling 164 yards on the ground en route to a Giants' win over the Tennessee Titans.

Chiefs Restructure Butker Deal, Unsure if He'll Play Thursday

The Kansas City Chiefs restructured the contract of kicker Harrison Butker on Wednesday as they prepare for a Thursday night matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. Butker was injured in the Chiefs' season-opening game on Sunday, leading to one of the weekend's most viral moments.
