Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield will be active on Thursday night vs. the Los Angeles Raiders, NFL Media reported. The Rams claimed Mayfield off waivers on Tuesday after the Panthers honored the quarterback’s request to be cut on Monday.

Former Cowboys HC Finalist for Stanford Job
Jason Garrett, former Cowboys head coach and current NBC analyst, is a finalist for Stanford University’s head coaching job, The Athletic reported. Garrett coached the Cowboys from 2010 to 2019 and finished with a career record of 85-67 but was only 2-3 in playoff games.
Garrett has never held a collegiate coaching position. Sacramento State coach Troy Taylor is, reportedly, the other top candidate for the job.
Prior reporting indicated Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who coached at Stanford under Jim Harbaugh, was being heavily considered for the position. However, it appears Stanford will go in a different direction.
