Week 9 First-and-10: What You Missed Over a Wild Weekend of Football
Ten wonderful, weird and wacky items from a wild weekend of football:

Army vs. Air Force
A tradition slightly less known than Army vs. Navy, but just as electric. Army battled Air Force on Saturday in the Commander's Classic for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. The showdown took place at Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers. The stadium opened in 2020 and was specifically designed to host baseball and football games. This is a timelapse of how Globe Life Field transformed for the Commander’s Classic.

Air Force ended up with the edge over Army 13-7, but the Commander's Classic was more than just a football game. The day before, both squads got together for a pep rally and boxing match. USA, USA, USA!

Pac 12 After Dark … Literally
The storm was the story of the Washington-Oregon State game Friday night. Wind was reportedly gusting at 45 mph at the stadium and up to 100 mph in the mountains nearby. Washington was able to best Oregon State 24-21, but not before the storm knocked out the stadium's power for 25 minutes forcing a delay in the fourth quarter.

Down Goes Bama, AGAIN!
It was another great day to be an LSU Tiger. The early parts of their season sprouted doubts within the fanbase, specifically about Brian Kelly. The Week 1 loss to Florida State had everyone calling for he and his fake accent to leave town. However, winning cures all, as their current three-game winning streak, two over ranked opponents, has made Kelly’s TikTok dances a thing of the past. LSU took down Alabama 32-31, and Tiger alumni Jarvis Landry showed his support.

Afterwards, this moment in the locker room showed that the players have completely bought in to Brian Kelly’s leadership. “This is why you came here.”

Dawg Domination
This was a game where it felt like a blowout was happening but the score didn't reflect that for much of the contest. From the opening kick, nothing was going right for Tennessee. Crowd noise was a major factor, and with 7:54 left in the 1st quarter, Tennessee already had three false starts. The major turning point of the game was this sequence that started with a 75-yard punt pinning Tennessee inside its own 1-yard line.
It is honestly impossible to have a better punt.

The punt led to Tennessee being nearly tackled for a safety. The play was controversially ruled down outside of the end zone, resulting in a Volunteer punt.

Georgia took back possession on Tennessee's 37-yard line, and on the very first play, Stetson Bennett tossed a laser to Ladd McConkey for six. The Bulldogs never looked back, beating the Volunteers 27-13.

Snowing in Cincinnati
It was tough sledding for P.J. Walker and the Carolina Panthers. In the first half Walker completed 3 of 10 passes for nine yards, two interceptions and a 0.0 passer rating. This performance resulted in Carolina falling into a 35-0 deficit. Baker Mayfield replaced Walker in the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome. The Bengals celebrated early and often, ultimately beating the Panthers 42-21.

‘Sad City’ Las Vegas
Sunday marked another blown lead for the Raiders. After jumping out to a 17-0 lead, the Raiders were outscored 27-3 over the course of the rest of the game resulting in a 27-20 loss to the Jaguars. From 1960-2021, the Raiders blew a 17+ point lead five times. In the first eight games of this season they have done it three times. Those three times are now tied for the most in a single season in NFL history.
Raiders plz don’t do this again

The Jets are Good?
The Jets defense is for real, and Sauce Gardner is making a name for himself. He had seven total tackles, one pass deflection and one interception. Gardner has been an integral part of the Jets' defensive rebuild, and closed out the upset of the Bills with this lockdown play.
They tried @iamSauceGardner.
