Ravens Hire Monken as OC
The Baltimore Ravens are hiring University of Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken as their new offensive coordinator, the team announced.
Monken, who was part of two consecutive national titles with the Bulldogs, returns to the NFL. He previously had been an offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"Todd's leadership and coaching acumen were evident from the beginning," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. "He has a proven track record for designing and teaching offensive systems that allow players to succeed at the highest level."
Monken turned down the Buccaneers job, but still wanted to get back to the pros, and was sought after the last few weeks.
Panthers Add Caldwell to Staff
The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms with former head coach Jim Caldwell to become a senior assistant on Frank Reich's staff, the team announced, He'll report directly to Reich and will help the team on offense, defense and special teams.
Caldwell, 68, was the head coach in Indianapolis (2009-2011) and Detroit (2014-2017).
Commanders Will Talk To Roman
The Washington Commanders are set to interview former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman for the same position, the team announced.
Roman has spent the past six seasons with the Ravens in a variety of roles, before becoming the team's offensive coordinator in 2019.
Broncos' Azzanni Quite Popular
Denver Broncos wide receiver coach Zach Azzanni will interview with the New York Jets today, NFL Media reported.
Azzanni talked to the Buffalo Bills on Monday. Staying in Denver on Sean Payton’s staff remains a possibility for Azzanni, who has been there since 2018.
Buccaneers interview Seahawks Canales
Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales is interviewing for Buccaneers offensive coordinator job today, ESPN reported.
