Broncos Release DE Frank Clark

The Denver Broncos have released defensive end Frank Clark after he returned $1.686 million in guaranteed salary to facilitate the move.

Clark signed with Denver this offseason on a one-year deal with $5.5 million guaranteed, but he ended up playing only two games with the team. According to a source, Clark never felt like he fit in Denver, and his agent had already been trying to get him out after the preseason ended.

Clark is the second pass-rusher with whom the Broncos have parted ways following the team’s trade of Randy Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers last week.

Before joining Denver, Clark spent his first four years with the Seattle Seahawks and the next four with the Kansas City Chiefs. He has 58.5 career sacks and 14 forced fumbles in nine NFL seasons and was selected to three Pro Bowls during his four years with Kansas City. A return to the Chiefs will be in play now that Clark is a free agent.
