Tagovailoa (Concussion) Officially out for Week 5
Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters on Monday that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will miss the team's Week 5 game against the New York Jets. Tagovailoa is still in the concussion protocol and has not been cleared to return following the head injury he suffered Thursday night against the Bengals.
Teddy Bridgewater will start for the Dolphins while Tagovailoa recovers.

The Rams promoted OT Chandler Brewer and RB Malcolm Brown to their active roster. The 49ers promoted WR Willie Snead, RB Tevin Coleman, and WR Malik Turner IV to the active roster.
Broncos DE Randy Gregory (Knee) to Miss Time
Denver Broncos defensive end Randy Gregory will miss time with a knee injury. Gregory will have anthroscopic knee surgery and could miss between 2-6 weeks as he recovers.

Titans WR Treylon Burks Out with Turf Toe
The Tennessee Titans will be without rookie wideout Treylon Burks for some time following a foot injury that team doctors have diagnosed as turf toe, according to NFL Media. Burks was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Through the better part of four games, Burks tallied 10 catches for 129 yards receiving on 16 targets.
Falcons Place RB Cordarrelle Patterson on IR
The Atlanta Falcons placed running back Cordarrelle Patterson on injured reserve Monday following a knee injury suffered in the team's Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns, per ESPN. Patterson will miss at least the next four weeks due to the injury, putting young backs Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley in line for bigger roles.
Broncos RB Javonte Williams Out for the Year
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams suffered a torn ACL on Sunday in the team's Week 4 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, according to NFL media. Williams will miss the remainder of the season as a result of the injury. The injury is a huge blow to a Denver offense that has struggled at times to find production thus far in the year. Veteran RB Melvin Gordon is likely to step into a larger role for the Broncos with Williams sidelined.
Jets OL Max Mitchell Avoids Season-Ending Injury
The New York Jets feared they may have lost offensive tackle Max Mitchell for the season on Sunday when he suffered a knee injury during the team's stunning victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team got good news on Monday, according to NFL Media. Though dealing with a dislocation, Mitchell will likely return before the end of the season. He will miss several weeks due to the injury, but the worst was avoided, it seems.
Colts RB Jonathan Taylor Questionable, LB Shaquille Leonard out
The Indianapolis Colts take on the Denver Broncos in prime time on Thursday night and will do so without linebacker Shaquille Leonard (concussion) and could be without running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) as well, per NFL Media. The Colts will continue to monitor Taylor's situation as the game approaches. However, the quick turnaround from Sunday to Thursday won't make things any easier on an Indianapolis squad that has sputtered a bit to start the season. Heading into Week 5, they sit at 1-2-1, leaving them in third place in the AFC South.
Sam Darnold Eligible to Return, but Still Rehabbing
Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold is eligible to return to action for Carolina this week; however, he has yet to fully recover from the high ankle sprain that has been ailing him since August, per ESPN. Given the up-and-down play of starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, Darnold may be given a chance to compete when he returns.
On Sunday, the 33rd Team's Rick Spielman, a former NFL general manager, reacted to Mayfield's performance — and Darnold's impending return.
"Where does Carolina go with their quarterback situation?" said Spielman. "Baker Mayfield has struggled through the first four weeks of the season. Is Sam Darnold really a better option when he comes off IR? It seems like Carolina is in a no-win situation which is going to make the seat a lot hotter on Matt Rhule."
Jamison Crowder Out Indefinitely
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Jamison Crowder is out indefinitely following a broken ankle suffered during the team's 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4, according to NFL Media. Crowder had yet to find a consistent role in the Bills' offense. Heading into his most recent game against the Ravens, Crowder had just 5 receptions on 9 targets in three games.
Patriots Expected to Sign Jamie Collins
The New England Patriots are expected to sign veteran linebacker Jamie Collins, according to ESPN. It remains to be seen whether Collins will sign to the practice squad or active roster, but in any case, the Patriots appear eager to upgrade the linebacker position. Collins was initially drafted by New England in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft but most recently played with the Detroit Lions.
Jimmy Smith Retiring as a Raven
Veteran cornerback Jimmy Smith will retire as a Baltimore Raven on Monday, according to NFL Media. Smith was a first-round pick by the Ravens in the 2011 NFL Draft after playing collegiately at the University of Colorado. Over his 11-year career with the team, Smith produced 14 interceptions and 3 defensive touchdowns. In Super Bowl XLVII, Smith played a huge part in helping the Ravens defeat the San Fransisco 49ers, cementing his legacy in Baltimore.
Giants Hosting Landon Collins
Former New York Giants safety Landon Collins could be rejoining his old squad, as the veteran met with the team for a visit on Monday, according to ESPN. The Giants originally drafted Collins in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft before signing a lucrative free agent deal with Washington prior to the 2019 NFL season. Collins could give the Giants another versatile option on defense as the team prepares for a Week 5 matchup against the Packers in London.
Cardinals Guard Will Hernandez Avoids Suspension
Arizona Cardinals Guard Will Hernandez will not be suspended by the league for making contact with an official on Sunday, according to NFL Media. Hernandez was ejected in the Cardinal's 26-16 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 4. However, the league will review Hernandez's conduct for possible fines.
Giants Quarterback Daniel Jones Day-to-Day
The New York Giants could be without quarterback Daniel Jones on Sunday as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, according to NFL Media. Jones suffered the injury during the team's 20-12 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 4. Despite the injury designation, there appears to be hope that the QB will be able to suit up for the Giants in Week 5 when they take on the Green Bay Packers in London.
