Tape Talk: Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux

Kayvon Thibodeaux is a defensive end from Oregon and regarded as one of the top 2022 NFL Draft prospects. After a high school career that saw him as the National Defensive Player of the Year and No. 2 overall prospect, Thibodeaux had a fantastic career for the Oregon Ducks. He was unanimously voted to the 2021 College Football All-American team following a seven-sack campaign this past season.

John Pagano broke down Thibodeaux's tape for The 33rd Team. A defensive coach since 1989, Pagano has worked with six different NFL teams numerous talented edge players, including: Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, Shawne Merriman, Shaun Phillips and Melvin Ingram. Most recently, Pagano was the outside linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos.

"Watching Thibodeaux, you see quick twitch," said Pagano, before noting his lower body stiffness.

Pagano repeatedly noted his initial twitch, get off and burst as positives as well as his transition from speed to power. There are also well-documented effort concerns as well that Pagano found on tape.

The 33rd Team has Thibodeaux ranked as the 3rd overall prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft and the No. 1 Edge player.
