Build

Does he have prototype size? What is body type? What is growth potential?

Mental

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Faalele shows adequate toughness in his play style. He is physical at the point of contact and is scrappy throughout the play. His instincts are adequate with his consistent recognition of assignment but misses some late blitzes/stunts. He tends to follow the man in front of him instead of sliding to his gap protection. His effort is good enough at the start of a play but movement looks labored as it progresses.

Athleticism

Does he have the athletic traits you want?

Faalele shows a surprisingly quick first step for someone his size. His mobility gets worse as the play progresses and his lack of knee bend shows. He has impactfully initial play strength but when he loses leverage he ends up relying on his length. He is an average athlete as far as explosiveness goes and is missing the twitch to be considered highly athletic.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Faalele uses his length and size on the edge to win pass blocking reps. He understands how to stifle rush angles and win with his upfield hand. His run blocking ability is limited from his lack of lateral mobility. He struggles to cut off more athletic DL when zone blocking and is inconsistent in his knee bend when inline blocking. He has the strength to tangle up DL at the LOS with his long frame. Faalele's limited mobility makes him an average second level blocker and puller/trapper. He can block when aiming for gaps but just chips his targets most often.

Summary

What role does he play? What is his initial projection?
Faalele projects as a low end starting tackle in his rookie year. His length, size and athleticism fit better on the right side of the line. He needs to improve his pad level when run blocking and become more fit to move better all around. Faalele is a huge bodied offensive tackle who would fit into a gap run scheme offense at the next level.
