Pittsburgh Steelers Name Mason Rudolph Starting QB For Week 16
Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin announced the team will start veteran Mason Rudolph on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Rudolphin will replace Mitch Trubisky, who started the last two games, both losses.
The Steelers have lost three straight games, starting with a loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13, where Kenny Pickett suffered a high-ankle sprain that ultimately required surgery. Tomlin said they are leaving "the door ajar" for Pickett this week but are preparing for Rudolph to be under center.
Rudolph replaced Trubisky late in the fourth quarter of the Steelers' 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts this past Saturday. It was his first appearance in a regular season game since 2021.
Pittsburgh is 7-7 and has fallen to last in the AFC North.
