Scouting Overview

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Warren Brinson projects as a developmental talent who could eventually earn rotational snaps as a penetration-style player. Brinson has the build of a gap-control player, but the quickness to penetrate and shoot gaps and create chaos in the backfield.

He is not quite consistent enough to be considered a ready-made player, but all of the physical tools are present for him if he can play with more discipline and recognition on early downs.

Positives

  • Illustrates good first-step quickness to attack gaps
  • Possesses sufficient length and plus mass — he looks the part as an interior defender
  • Can cross face and beat lateral contact with his initial rush strikes to play through hands

Negatives

  • Can struggle with leverage and get knocked off his rush track by heavy punches
  • Does not showcase a desirable level of versatility as a rusher to be a ready-made member of the rotation
  • Block diagnosis and hand usage to deconstruct blocks at the point of attack needs added development

Background

Brinson is from Savannah, GA, and played high school football for IMG Academy. He was rated as a 4-star recruit (247 Sports) and coveted as a top-25 defensive tackle in the country before declaring for Georgia as a member of the school’s 2020 recruiting class.

Brinson played in seven games for Georgia in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic season before filling a rotational role for Georgia in 12 games in 2021. He would go on to play another 15 games in 2022 and make his first career starts in 2023, with four starts in 13 contests.

Brinson finished his college career with another 4 starts in 12 games during the 2024 season and accepted an invitation to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl

Ideal Scheme Fit, Role

Brinson projects as a developmental talent along the defensive front. He has the build and quickness to be an effective rotational talent who attacks gaps, but his leverage and block deconstruction efforts must become more consistent.
