Former Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano believes Matt Ryan is as good as advertised.
The Colts have been searching for stable quarterback play since Andrew Luck retired. They have tried several valuable short-term options with Jacoby Brissett (2019), Phillip Rivers (2020) and Carson Wentz (2021) but none of them got the Colts to the Super Bowl. None of those guys came in with credentials like Ryan’s either.
“I think everybody feels like this isn’t gonna be just another one-and-done situation where Philip comes in for a year then retires,” Pagano said. “Then, things don’t work out the way they want to with Wentz. So, hopefully, this one does for those guys.”
