Trey Wedig 2025 NFL Draft: Scouting Report For Indiana Hoosiers OL
Height: 6065 (verified)
Weight: 313lbs (verified)
Year: Redshirt Senior
Pro Comparison: Cole Van Lanen
Scouting Overview
Indiana Hoosiers offensive lineman Trey Wedig is a well-built player who has some experience on both sides of the center and on the perimeter at right tackle. Wedig does not play with ideal amounts of leverage and offers just sufficient lateral mobility.
He’s a technical player, but will be tested by NFL athletes. He’s likely to slot inside at the NFL level to prevent him from getting cleared around the edge. His modest leverage and bend further compound his reps on isolation on the perimeter.
2025 NFL Combine Results
DNP
Positives
- Offers some left & right side flexibility to be a potential utility player
- Illustrates good execution of assignments and technique to hit landmarks in the run game
- Boasts a well-built frame to anchor when properly framing pass rushers
Negatives
- Does not play with ideal knee bend and pad level to sustain leverage through reps
- Foot speed and lateral mobility should be considered modest
- Limited range and gravitational pull as a blocker in space
Background
Wedig is from Oconomowoc, WI, and played high school football for Kettle Moraine HS. There, he was a consensus 4-star recruit and a two-time First Team All-State selection. Wedig also threw shot put in high school, where he finished second in the state in 2019. Wedig elected to play for the Wisconsin Badgers as a member of the school’s 2020 recruiting class.
Wedig redshirted his first season on campus before appearing in 13 games in 2021 and another 10 games in 2022. He started eight of those 10 games as a redshirt sophomore between right tackle, right guard, and left guard. He would return to a depth role for 2023 before entering the transfer portal and enrolling at Indiana after 35 games and eight starts in Wisconsin.
Wedig started all 13 games for the Hoosiers in 2024 and, after the season, accepted an invitation to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Ideal Scheme Fit, Role
Wedig projects as a developmental talent for the NFL level. He will be best served living on the interior, where his lack of foot speed can be better masked.
But with that said, he will need to improve his leverage and anchor to warrant dressing on game days.
