“There’s no playbook for being a head coach,” said Eric Mangini. And that couldn’t be more applicable to the story of Eric Mangini himself. He originally wanted to be an investment banker and then got his first experience coaching football in Australia. But not long after that, he was working with the likes of Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick.
Mangini has been an NFL coach for 19 seasons, including head coaching stints with the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns. A good friend of the 33rd Team, Mangini shared his story with us.
