Technology and its affect on football has come a long, long way since the days of VCR recording of games and reading about it in the next day’s newspaper. For NFL officials, the improvements in technology have allowed for much more accurate calling of games. But it has also brought unrealistic expectations from fans says Dean Blandino, who expect officials to be as accurate in real-time as everyone can be watching countless replays on television broadcasts.
