Buffalo Bills' Dane Jackson Leaves MNF by Ambulance
UPDATE: Jackson is being examined at the hospital for a neck injury, but has full movement in his extremities.
CB Dane Jackson has been taken to ECMC for evaluation of a neck injury. He will be getting a CT scan and an x-ray. Jackson has full movement in extremities.

In a scary moment just before halftime of Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills cornerback Dane Jackson was hit by a teammate while making a tackle, and was taken off the field by ambulance with his neck immobilized. Jackson took a hit to his head and neck area while making a tackle on Tennessee's Treylon Burks, with his head bending backwards on the inadvertent collision.
Leonard Williams Missing Time with Sprained MCL
The Giants will be without top defensive lineman Leonard Williams for some time, but have dodged a more serious injury to one of their top defensive players. Williams sprained his MCL in Sunday's win over Carolina, but is expected to be out only for a short time.
Giants Bring Back Jaylon Smith
The New York Giants are boosting their linebacking group with a familiar face, bringing back Jaylon Smith, according to his agent. Smith played four games for the Giants last season, recording 19 tackles. He had 38 total tackles in 2021, also spending time with Dallas and Green Bay.
No Compound Fracture for Lance
San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance underwent successful ankle surgery on Monday, the 49ers announced. Lance was injured in Sunday's game against the Seahawks and was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast. There is some good news for the second-year signal caller though: He did not suffer a compound fracture of the ankle, which should speed up the recovery time and minimize the potential for infection, said Dr. Jessica Flynn of The 33rd Team. Nevertheless, his season is still over and Lance faces a 4-6 month recovery.
Chiefs LB Gay Suspended 4 Games
The NFL suspended Chiefs LB Willie Gay Jr. four games for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. Gay was arrested in January for misdemeanor property damage. Gay’s suspension is effective immediately and he is eligible to return on Monday, Oct. 17 after the conclusion of Week 6.
Commanders Sign DT Ridgeway
The Washington Commanders signed former Cowboys defensive tackle John Rdigeway on Monday. Ridgeway provides depth for Washington’s defensive line.
Broncos Battle Injuries
Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II and WR Jerry Jeudy are considered day-to-day after sustaining injuries in Sunday’s win against the Texans. Surtain II left the game early with a shoulder injury and Jeudy sustained a chest injury on Sunday.
Browns Rule Out Three for TNF
Just one day after a 31-30 loss to the New York Jets, head coach Kevin Stefanski ruled out three players per ESPN's Adam Schefter. DE Jadeveon Clowney (ankle), DE Chase Winovich (hamstring) and TE Jesse James (undisclosed) will not play Thursday night against the Steelers.
Rams Lose OL Anchrum
The Los Angeles Rams placed OL Tremayne Anchrum on injured reserve following news of a fractured fibula that will require surgery. The fracture will sidelines Anchrum as the Rams continue to find their footing following a Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 8 to begin the season. Anchrum was making his first strart when he was injured on Sunday, leaving him out indefinitely, according to NFL Media.
Greenlaw, 49ers Agree to Extension
The San Fransisco 49ers have come to an agreement on a contract that will keep linebacker Dre Greenlaw in San Fransisco for two additional seasons. The deal, which the two sides agreed to before the team's game on Sunday, includes up to $10 million in guaranteed money and could be worth a total of nearly $19 million, according to NFL Media.
NFL Investigating Saints-Bucs Brawl
The NFL is considering handing out fines and other disciplines in response to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints fight on Sunday, according to NFL Media. The Saints' Marshon Lattimore and the Bucs' Mike Evans were at the center of the scuffle and are likely to receive some form of punishment, and they have in the past for similar incident with one another.
Trey Lance Likely Done for Year
After suffering a broken ankle on Sunday, 49ers young quarterback Trey Lance will miss the remainder of the 2022 NFL regular season, per ESPN. Veteran Jimmy Garappolo, whose status was one of the offseason's biggest stories, will take over under center for coach Kyle Shanahan and company.
