The Best of Football Twitter in Week 8
Every week during the NFL season, the 33rd Team will present some of the most interesting Tweets that come across our timeline during Sunday’s action. Here’s the Week 8 rundown:
A visual representation of the jumbled mess that is the AFC. One that makes me feel a little bit better about just throwing up my hands on the show today. pic.twitter.com/W3r7S88nw2

Saints are the first team to win 3 straight regular season games against Tom Brady since the 2005-2009 Broncos won three in a row over the Patriots.

Derrick Henry has handled 219-of-230 running back rushing attempts for the Titans this season.
He has 353 more rushing yards than any other player in the NFL.
He has a league-high 10 rushing touchdowns.
Just a devastating blow if he is out all year.

This really was the weekend of the backup quarterback.
The Cooper-Rush-to-Amari-Cooper TD is the 1st in NFL history where the passer's first name & receiver's last name are an exact match
Cowboys also have the only pass TD where passer's LAST and receiver's FIRST were an exact match: Andy Dalton-Dalton Schultz in Wk 11, 2020 at MIN

The #Saints beat the defending Super Bowl champions:
- With a 3rd-string QB
- A leading receiver called up from the practice squad this weekend
- A TE that didn't have a catch since 2017 (had 3 today)What a win by Sean Payton and that staff.

Geno Smith has been a pleasant surprise and may have earned himself a shot to battle for a QB1 spot somewhere outside of Seattle this offseason.
Geno Smith completed +24.7% of his passes over expected, the highest CPOE by a QB since Drew Brees in Week 15, 2019 (+27.4%).
Smith was at his best passing from inside the tackle box, completing 17 of 19 passes for 162 yards, 2 TD (+25.8% CPOE).#JAXvsSEA | #Seahawks pic.twitter.com/1ntwy0PMva

Sean Payton will really be proving his mettle the rest of the season as the Saints aim to contend without Jameis Winston.
I was Part of hiring Sean Peyton for his 1st NFL job as QB coach in Philly. We don’t spend enough time praising him as a great HC. He is in a small group of very top HC’s in the NFL for a long time. His team plays above its talent level week after week and season after season

The Jets are a trap game waiting to happen.
The two hottest AFC teams entering Week 8 were the #Titans and #Bengals.
The #Jets have wins over both this season.
Football, man.
