Video Breakdown: Why Kyle Pitts Is Such an Attractive NFL Prospect

Offensive and defensive coaches alike are singing the praises of Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, who some think could be the most talented player available in the 2021 NFL Draft.

On last week's 33rd Team Call, long-time NFL offensive coordinator Chris Palmer broke down some Pitts video and showed exactly why the 6-6, 240-pounder has been skyrocketing up draft boards.

"This goes against anything that I have been taught, that you would take a tight end early in the draft," said Palmer. "But when you start evaluating this player, he plays against all the best corners that are going to be selected in the first round … You can look at him as a wide receiver, even though he is a tight end."

Veteran defensive coordinator Wade Phillips said Pitts reminds him of Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, and marveled at what a matchup problem Pitts will be for opposing defenses.

Said Phillips: "These Tampa 2 people, they’re going to be shaking in their boots now with this guy running down the middle on a linebacker."
