Frame/Durability8
Mental
He is consistent in press and aggressive at the catch point. His physicality at the LOS often stops receivers from getting into their routes and even forces them out of bounds. Shows average feel for route concepts in zone coverages; often gets locked onto the receiver in his space instead of seeing the complete picture.

Athleticism
Ahmad Gardner possesses adequate twitch and burst with above the line long speed. His elite arm length and quick hands are critical to his success in press coverage. With outstanding strength, he eliminates receivers in press and is physical with tight ends in coverage. Though a willing tackler, adding weight will limit times where ball carriers shrug him off. His length, aggression, and ball skills lead to PBUs and interceptions at the catch point.

Technical
Gardner is an outstanding press-man corner. He is physical at the LOS, with quick hands that often neutralize releases. His outstanding hip fluidity and quick feet enable him to throw multiple jabs without sacrificing balance or leverage to stay attached to receivers. Consistent mirror and shuffle technique keep him from opening his gate. He has few reps in off-man but works a patient scooch technique and gets hands on at the top of routes. In Cover 2, receivers struggle to evade his two hand jam, and his length keeps him in passing windows. He can get high and take wasted steps at the breakpoint. His long speed and length give him the range to play Cover 3 effectively. He could improve his tackling with added weight and technique: he makes explosive plays with his burst but often looks to catch ball carriers instead of running through tackles.
