Carter plays with physicality and has outstanding heavy hands that he uses well to out leverage OL and anchor at POA in the run game. He is able to displace and knock OL off balance with his initial punch. He uses his hands well to disengage in the run game. He shows above the line ability as a penetrator due to his physicality and his effort. Plays with adequate pad level...He lacks twitch and has average pass rush ability. Needs to develop a better pass rush plan. Does not win with speed rushes due to his average get off, and average AA. Needs to improve his snap timing and timing as a wrapper on stunts/twists. Needs to improve timing on disengage in the run game.

Carter is a RS SR at the University of Florida and has started 23 of his last 24 games, including all 12 last season. He was suspended for the first half of a game in 2020 due to an in game fight. Carter has played all over the DL in both a 4-3 and 3-4 for the Gators. He has seen time as a 4-3 3T,4iT,4T, 5T and a 3-4 DE. He has had solid production in his career, improving in production each season. Carter is stronger as a run stuffer and wins with his explosive upper body strength, heavy hands, pad level, and effort. Carter is a tweener in size between a 4-3 3T and a 4-3 5T, but has the versatility to play multiple positions on the DLine. Carter projects as a backup 3T in a 4-3 scheme who can also play as a one gapping 5T in a 3-4 scheme, and out wide as an ED.
