Mental

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Thibodeaux has adequate snap timing/anticipation. Plays with adequate instincts, diagnosing run vs pass quickly. Does an adequate job of keying the ball. Adequate job of staying in pass rush lanes...Thibodeaux has an inconsistent motor. Looks like he takes some plays off. Would like to see him look to dominant more consistently. He has average gap integrity, with a tendency to get too far upfield. Takes average angles on backside pursuit plays. Urgency could improve against run and pass. Can get complacent and not look to counter when initial move doesn't work.

Technical

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Thibodeaux is an outstanding pass rusher due to his elite get off and above the line AA. His get off and speed allow him to get by OTs, and he has the bend to get underneath OTs/flatten the edge. He also is twitchy and athletic enough to beat OTs inside. He has an above the line bull rush/long arm move due to his length, play strength, and leverage. He displays above the line rush angles and maintains leverage when rushing the passer. In the run game, he displays adequate disengage ability due to adequate timing and adequate heavy hands. Has adequate anchor ability...His pass rush plan needs to improve. Learning to manipulate OTs hips more consistently and better UOH will take his game to the next level. Hand accuracy problems do show up on film, and he does not use his hands consistently enough. He gets complacent at times and does not look to use counters consistently. His effort/motor does need to improve.
