Does he have prototype size? What is body type? What is growth potential?

Outstanding build with his size and length at the position. Has a very large frame with a lot of length and long arms. He is a big-bodied target for the QB. Battled a foot/ankle injury this past season but only missed one game.

Is he instinctual? Does he play with urgency?

Extremely physical player, puts his pads down and drives his feet to get yards after catch. Hard to tackle below the waist as he keeps his feet moving. Very hard to bring down, sometimes carries defenders with him to fight for those extra yards. There were some instances in which defenders were hesitant to tackle him because of his large frame. Understands his blocking assignment in the running game as well as where he needs to position himself against a zone coverage. Runs his routes well according to the coverage and gets open. Above the line effort in his blocking as he drives his feet into the ground to push defenders back. Puts effort in getting as many yards as he can after the catch.

Does he have the athletic traits you want?

Above the line explosiveness coming off the LOS to block as well as in his route running with his long strides to get himself open and split coverages. Above the line speed especially considering his large frame. Has adequate body control and flexibility in adjusting himself mid-route to catch the ball. His height and length limit his flexibility. Average change of direction which is limited by his size. Not someone who is going to juke defenders or create separation from DBs/LBs due to his average agility. Adequate play strength, plays strong in moving defenders off their spot but could improve in controlling defenders where he wants to go - which he can learn as he refines his technique. Has strong hands and can box out defenders for the catch but would like to see him be more consistent doing that.

Does he have a refined skill set? Is he a projection or is his game developed enough to contribute early?

Strong and powerful route runner who runs with long strides and solid speed. His route tree consists of a lot of shallow routes, posts, flats, curls, ins, outs, and seams. Above the line release off his stance with his length and urgency to get open. Sometimes may bobble the ball but eventually comes down with it. Overall solid hands and displays the ability to go up and get the ball when he needs to. Great extension of his arms to go get the ball - catches the ball with his hands and not his body. Above the line body adjustment when the ball is in the air. Once he catches the ball, he secures it tight to prevent defenders from stripping it. Tough to bring down after the catch and is always fighting for extra yards. High in his blocks, partially due to his height. Inconsistent with his use of hands, sometimes inside and outside the chest. His long arms and violent UOH helps him with his blocking. Strikes the defender right off the LOS and puts a lot of effort into his blocking. Solid in down blocks and opening up a hole for the RB to run outside the tackles. Extremely reliable with his length and frame and can throw within his wide radius for an easy conversion.

What role does he play? What is his initial projection?
Relatively new to the tight end position as he was recruited to be a dual-threat QB at Oklahoma State before changing positions.Transferred from Oklahoma State as a grad transfer. He saw his best year with the Cavaliers as soon as he transferred, becoming a reliable target for QB Brennan Armstrong. Lined up all over Virginia's offensive formations - in the slot, outside, and with his hands in the ground. Overall impressive athlete who is a willing blocker and a reliable, big target for his QB. Will likely start as the number two tight end on a team, but will fight to become the starter if he continues to refine his blocking skills as well as getting more consistent with his strong hands in catching the ball. He has a lot of upside considering he is relatively new to the position and with the right coaching and system, he can prove to be a solid TE in the league. Project him as solid value in the 4th round.
