Now You Know: Justin Herbert's Stellar Week 1
Play Breakdowns 9/12/22
The Los Angeles Chargers are off to a 1-0 start this season after a 24-19 win over division rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1. Much of the credit for that goes to quarterback Justin Herbert, who posted a 26/34, 279-yard, 3-touchdown stat line in the Chargers' victory. The win and the strong numbers are nothing new for Herbert, who is off to one of the best starts in the history of the NFL for a quarterback after two seasons.
In this video found exclusively on The 33rd Team, former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon breaks down some of Herbert's best throws from that Week 1 victory. Watching Herbert fighting off a Pro Bowl pass rusher to pick up a first down, connecting on a play-action throw and hitting a tight window inside the red zone. Gannon feels comfortable saying Herbert is one of the best quarterbacks in the game, and "is a guy that can do it all. He's big, he's strong, he's tough, he's smart and he's extremely accurate."
