The 5 Biggest Day 3 Steals of the NFL Draft

The 5 Biggest Day 3 Steals in the NFL Draft

With the NFL Draft in the books, we take a look here at some of the biggest steals from Day 3 and assess the impact each of these prospects could have on their new team.

Perrion Winfrey, DT, Cleveland

Perrion Winfrey was our No. 4 defensive tackle entering the draft, which makes him one of the biggest steals of Day 3. Winfrey is a former JUCO product, and was one of the top defensive tackles in the country once he transferred to Oklahoma. Winfrey has a really good motor and displays outstanding toughness. He had a strong showing at the Senior Bowl and should be a contributor early in his career for the Browns.

Isaiah Spiller, RB Los Angeles Chargers

The positional value for running backs has declined significantly over the last couple of years, which has caused talented running backs to fall almost every year. This year was no exception with Isaiah Spiller falling to the Chargers in the fourth round. Entering the draft, Spiller was our number two running back, only behind second round pick, Breece Hall. Spiller does a lot of things very well. He has outstanding vision, effort, and can make people miss. He will be a really good number two running back for the Chargers behind star running back Austin Ekeler.

Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore

Entering the draft, Isaiah Likely was our second ranked tight end, which makes this one of the biggest steals of the draft. Likely was one of the most productive tight ends in the country and offers a unique piece to the scary Baltimore offense. He’s a versatile player that can play inline, in the slot, or even out wide. He will be a quality backup tight end to Mark Andrews and will see a lot of time in Baltimore due to their scheme that utilizes a lot of 12 and 13 personnel packages.

Daniel Faalele, OT, Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens were one of the clear winners of the weekend, and drafting players such as Isaiah Likely and Daniel Faalele is a big reason why. Daniel Faalele was a great pick in the fourth round. Although he may not start day one, Faalele will push for the starting right tackle spot immediately. On day one, he will be one of the largest tackles/players in the league. He has elite size and length, coming in at 6084, 384. He has absurd 35 ½ inch arms, and is a really solid run blocker. He moves a lot better than expected for someone that size, and he is able to displace defensive lineman on down blocks and drive blocks. He has some technique problems to clean up, like hand placement, but this is a smart, high upside pick.

Kingsley Enagbare, EDGE, Green Bay

The last pick of the fifth round may have been one of the best ones, with Green Bay selecting Kingsley Enagbare out of South Carolina. Enagbare was No. 12-ranked edge rusher. He was ranked right after Boye Mafe, a second round pick, and right before Nik Bonitto, another second round pick. Enagbare has good length and excels at disengaging blockers. He is someone who can play as a 3-4 OLB, who will excel at setting the edge. He also may also see time as a DE in their 3-4 scheme, which makes him an intriguing prospect. He offers really good depth for the Packers.
