Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Packers ‘Definitely Looking' for a WR
The Green Bay Packers are not sure who their quarterback will be for the 2023 season, but they will be looking to add a weapon on the outside for whoever winds up as their signal-caller.
At least that's what Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba (scouting report) said Tuesday at the NFL Combine after his formal meeting with the team.

The Packers own the 15th pick in the first round, No. 45 in the second round and No. 78 in the third round.
It has been 21 years since the Packers last took a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft, when Green Bay took Javon Walker with the 20th overall pick in 2002. Green Bay has found success, however, in the second round, landing Greg Jennings (2006), Jordy Nelson (2007), Randall Cobb (2012), Davante Adams (2014) and Christian Watson (2022).
The only receivers Green Bay currently has under contract for 2023 are Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, Jeff Cotton and Bo Melton.
Allen Lazard was Green Bay's top wide receiver in 2022 with 60 receptions for 788 yards and six touchdowns. Tight end Robert Tonyan (53 receptions, 470 yards, 2 TDs), Doubs (42 receptions, 425 yards, 3 TDs) and Watson (41 receptions, 611 yards, 7 TDS) were the only other receivers with more than 40 catches.
