Cincinnati Bengals NFL Draft Grades 2023: Myles Murphy Fits in Well
The 2023 NFL Draft is complete, and the Cincinnati Bengals made eight picks.
The Bengals looked to stay among the AFC's elite teams with their selections.
The 33rd Team Scouting Dept. graded every pick in this year’s draft, here's how the Bengals fared:

28. Myles Murphy, Edge, Clemson
Myles Murphy (scouting report) is long and brings some more athleticism to the Bengals' pass rush from the edge. He was a bit of an underachiever in college and doesn't blow you away on tape, but he has the upside to be a very good player. He fits in nicely with Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson in a room that can get after the quarterback.

60. D.J. Turner, CB, Michigan
D.J. Turner (scouting report) does not have the size NFL teams are looking for in a cornerback, but he does have explosive speed and good lateral movement skills. He has good awareness in zone. He will give up some ground in the run game due to his lack of play strength.

95. Jordan Battle, Safety, Alabama
The Bengals needed to address the safety position with the loss of Vonn Bell and Jessie Bates. Jordan Battle (scouting report) is more of an old school strong safety than a free safety who can play the deep part of the field. He plays with good instincts and strikes with violence as a tackler.
Grade: C-
131. Charlie Jones, WR, Purdue
Charlie Jones (scouting report) is a smart, instinctive player with solid height and a slender frame. He is at his best when aligned in the slot and running underneath routes. However, he does lack the play speed and explosiveness that you hope for at the position. He did test very well at the combine, and the Bengals will hope to see that translate on the field.

163. Chase Brown, RB, Illinois
Chase Brown (scouting report) tallied a large amount of college touches, but he has a nice compact build to carry the load in an NFL offense. His toughness, balance and burst should give him a chance to carve out a role early in his NFL career.

206. Andrei Iosivas, WR, Princeton
Andrei Iosivas (scouting report) is a good-sized athlete with good straight-line speed. He has some tightness in his hips, which results in average lateral quickness. He is a big play threat on the outside who can outrun defenders. He was an NCAA Heptathlon Champion.

217. Brad Robbins, P, Michigan
The Bengals drafted a successful kicker in 2021, and now they take a punter with the last pick of the sixth round. Brad Robbins (scouting report) was second in Michigan history in punting average. Robbins has a powerful leg and can place it. He is a good athlete (35- inch vertical jump).

246. D.J. Ivey, CB, Miami (Fla)
D.J. Ivey (scouting report) is a height/weight/speed prospect with 32-inch arms and 4.46 speed. He had 127 tackles, five interceptions and 11 PBUs in his career.
