2023 NFL Mock Draft: Final Picks, Predictions For All 7 Rounds
The Carolina Panthers are unofficially on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick as the 2023 NFL Draft approaches, but there's a star quarterback who appears to be the heavy favorite to be headed to Carolina.
New coach Frank Reich will wind up mentoring Bryce Young when the team selects the Alabama quarterback first overall. Young begins a run at the position, with five quarterbacks projected to go in the first 14 selections.
Led by T.J. McCreight, The 33rd Team Scouting Department has been hard at work evaluating the top prospects in this class. A former player personnel executive for the Philadelphia Eagles and former director of college scouting for the Indianapolis Colts, McCreight has nearly 25 years of NFL scouting experience.
He is joined in the department by three scouts:
- Kevin Cohn, a former scouting assistant for the Jacksonville Jaguars and assistant director of player personnel for the University of Connecticut.
- Justin Casey, who worked for the Arizona Cardinals in football administration and then as the senior player personnel executive for the Montreal Alouettes.
- Evan Pritt, a former scouting assistant for the Eagles and former player personnel assistant for the University of Maryland.

Note: This year's first round only has 31 picks because the Miami Dolphins forfeited their selection for tampering with Tom Brady.
Editor's Note:Â After publish, the Green Bay Packers finalized a deal sending Aaron Rodgers, picks no. 15 and no. 170 to the New York Jets for picks no. 13, no. 42, no. 207 and a conditional 2024 second-round pick (that becomes a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65 percent of plays).

 1. Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
The Carolina Panthers land their franchise quarterback in Young (scouting report). Head coach Frank Reich completes an offensive overhaul for the Panthers, who have added Miles Sanders, DJ Chark, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman this offseason. There are serious questions about Young's size, but there are not any questions about his instincts, quick mind and football intelligence.

 2. Houston Texans
Will Levis, QB, Kentucky
The Houston Texans stay at No. 2 and are able to land Levis (scouting report) to lead their offense for years to come. In a game of big men, the 6-foot-4 Levis has the size and strength to get through the grind of an NFL season.Â

3. Indianapolis Colts

- Indianapolis receives: 1-3
- Arizona receives: 1-4, 2-35
C.J. Stroud, QB, Ohio State
The Indianapolis Colts give up pick No. 35 to move up one spot and take Stroud (scouting report). The Colts have been looking for a franchise quarterback ever since Andrew Luck retired; they hope to have found him in Stroud, who has the arm strength, size and athletic ability teams look for in quarterbacks.
 4. Arizona Cardinals

Will Anderson, Edge, Alabama
The Arizona Cardinals make Anderson (scouting report) the first defensive player off the board. Arizona has a lot of needs, but the selection of Anderson should help ease the loss of pass-rush great J.J. Watt. Anderson can be a core player on the Cardinals' defense and a top-level piece to build around moving forward.

 5. Seattle Seahawks

Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech
With the Seattle Seahawks signing Geno Smith, they are not desperate for a quarterback. They stick to their board here and pick the best available player in Wilson (scouting report), who gives them an extremely long rusher with outstanding movement skills for his size. As a player who can get to the quarterback, Wilson fills a big need need for Seattle.
 6. Detroit Lions

Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
With their recent issues, the Detroit Lions avoid a player with any type of character issues and pick the extremely clean and talented Gonzalez (scouting report). With his man cover skills, Gonzalez can be left on an island and allow Detroit's defense to send more pressure.
 7. Las Vegas Raiders
Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia
The Las Vegas Raiders solidify their tackle position for the future with this pick. Many NFL scouts believe Jones (scouting report) could move inside to guard early in his career but eventually settle in at tackle. Jones is considered the top offensive lineman on the board by several offensive line coaches around the NFL.
 8. Atlanta Falcons
Lukas Van Ness, Edge, Iowa
The Atlanta Falcons are looking for an impact edge rusher and find one in Van Ness (scouting report), who utilizes explosive, straight-line power. New defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen will be intrigued by the length and size of the Iowa pass rusher.Â
 9. Chicago Bears

Jalen Carter, IDL, Georgia
The Chicago Bears moved from the first pick of the draft to the ninth and still get the player they covet. Carter (scouting report) can be a difference-maker for this defense and will be tough to handle for offensive linemen in the NFC North.
 10. Philadelphia Eagles
*From SAINTS
Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas
General manager Howie Roseman usually does not value the running back position this high in the draft, but Robinson (scouting report) is so talented in the passing game. With the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl mode, he is just too good to pass up. The Eagles resist the urge to trade out of this spot to accumulate more picks.Â
11. Tennessee Titans
Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee
Hooker (scouting report) is coming off an injury and is older than your typical rookie, but the Tennessee Titans feel like they might have their quarterback of the future. With the accuracy and athleticism teams are looking for, Hooker could be a solid pick at this point.

 12. Houston Texans

Nolan Smith, Edge, Georgia
The Houston Texans got their quarterback of the future in Levis, and now they land their pass rusher of the future in Smith (scouting report). The explosive edge rusher does not have ideal size, but he is instinctive and has the ability to play in space as well. For his size, he also is a very capable player as a run defender.
13. Green Bay Packers
*From JETS
Paris Johnson, OT, Ohio State
The Green Bay Packers feel good picking Ohio State's Johnson (scouting report) to be their left tackle of the future and Jordan Love's blind-side protector. Johnson needs to add some size and strength to his frame, but he has the length teams are looking for and is an outstanding athlete with nimble feet and outstanding bend. He will be more than capable of facing top pass rushers in the NFL.Â
 14. Washington Commanders

Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
The Washington Commanders move up to pick the talented quarterback from Florida. Richardson (scouting report) will need some time to develop as he has only started one year in college, but they love his ability and are eager to get him in the building to work with.

 15. New York Jets
*From PACKERS
Peter Skoronski, OG, Northwestern
The New York Jets fill a position of need as the long-term view is probably to move Skoronski (scouting report) inside to guard. The Jets will love his strength, toughness and position flexibility. The instinctive Skoronski will be a solid player in both the pass and run games and will be looked at as a core player on this offense.

16. New England Patriots
*From COMMANDERS
Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
The New England Patriots move back two spots and still get the player that they were targeting in Wright (scouting report). Wright is an experienced player with toughness and strength, and capable of moving defenders off the line of scrimmage, he should help New England's run game. Highly respected among offensive line coaches, Wright has risen up draft boards.
 17. Pittsburgh Steelers
Dawand Jones, OT, Ohio State
A perfect fit for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jones (scouting report) is a giant of a man who can gobble up defenders. He is super strong in the run game and is much more nimble and athletic than you think a man of his size would be. His arm length allows him to ride rushers up the field and he has the feet, bend and lateral movement skills to adjust to quicker, more agile rushers.
 18. Detroit Lions
Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU
Johnston (scouting report) gives the Detroit Lions a big, outside receiving threat who can stretch the field as well as win 50-50 balls over smaller defenders. He needs to clean up his easy concentration drops, but once he does he has the tools to develop into a top-level NFL wide receiver.
 19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma
This is a position of need for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Harrison (scouting report) will take over for Donovan Smith at left tackle and should be able to step in quickly and start from Day 1. He has all of the traits to be a long-term answer for the Bucs at tackle.
 20. Seattle Seahawks
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State
There are some questions about his speed, but Smith-Njigba (scouting report) is an outstanding route runner with hands and ball skills. He is capable of winning one on one, especially in a short area. He has the quickness, feet and body control to separate and is very quarterback-friendly.
 21. Los Angeles Chargers
Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee
The Los Angeles Chargers need speed on the outside and this pick will give them explosiveness to stretch the field. Justin Herbert will love Hyatt (scouting report), who not only has burst, but he does not take time to build his speed. He and Herbert should find an instant connection.
 22. Baltimore Ravens
Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
The Baltimore Ravens put a lot of value on this position and Witherspoon (scouting report) is a perfect fit. He is one of the more physical corners in the draft and has that Ravens swag we have seen for years. He lacks ideal size, but he plays much bigger and is not afraid to throw his body around in the run game.
 23. Minnesota Vikings
Deonte Banks, CB, Maryland
Banks (scouting report) is an outstanding press corner who has strong hands and plays with top-level balance. One of the most explosive corners in the draft, Banks was one of the top testing corners at the combine, running a sub-4.4 40 and jumping out of the building. He could be an impact player for the Minnesota Vikings early.
 24. Jacksonville Jaguars
Brian Branch, DB, Alabama
Branch (scouting report) will be very valuable to the Jacksonville Jaguars defense because he has tremendous versatility in the back end. He is capable of playing over the slot and in the middle of the field. Branch is very instinctive and he plays like a coach on the field, which at that position should have a big impact.
 25. New York Giants
Jordan Addison, WR, USC
The New York Giants were holding their breath hoping that they would have a chance to select the USC receiver. Addison (scouting report) does not have top-level speed and explosiveness, but he is a very polished player who understands how to run a route and has a tremendous feel for coverages.
 26. Dallas Cowboys
Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame
No team values tight ends like the Dallas Cowboys, who pick the top one in the draft in Mayer (scouting report). The Notre Dame product has the speed, athleticism and ball skills to win one on one and move the chains. He also has the size and strength teams look for to be a factor in the run game. He will be a valuable piece for the Cowboys' offense from Day 1.
 27. Pittsburgh Steelers

Joey Porter Jr., Â CB, Penn State
Pittsburgh moves back into the first round to stay in the family and pick Porter Jr. (scouting report). Porter is a talented corner who has good speed, explosiveness and lateral-movement skills. He feels like a Steeler and they probably have been targeting him for some time.
 28. Cincinnati Bengals
Emmanuel Forbes, CB, Mississippi State
Forbes (scouting report) does not have the ideal girth for the position, but he has rare hands, ball skills and production. Forbes, who had an eye-popping six pick-sixes in his career at Mississippi State, should play early for the Cincinnati Bengals.
 29. New Orleans Saints

Myles Murphy, Edge, Clemson
The New Orleans Saints value the skill set of Murphy (scouting report), who fits the team's profile with his length and overall movement skills. His production has been modest, but at this point of the draft, he is too talented to pass up.
 30. Philadelphia Eagles
Will McDonald, Edge, Iowa State
The Eagles, who love to load up on pass rushers, target McDonald (scouting report) as a player who will get in their rotation, stay fresh and harrass quarterbacks in the NFC East. He has rare length and bend off the edge. He should be a better pro than a college player as he settles in as an outside rusher.
 31. Kansas City Chiefs
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Edge, Kansas State
The Kansas City Chiefs improve their pass rush as they select the talented Anudike-Uzomah (scouting report), who broke out in 2021 by showing an ability to get to the quarterback with his speed, quickness, and overall effort.
