Mariota Leaves Falcons

Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota has left the team to receive treatment for a knee issue, The Athletic reported. Mariota informed the Falcons he would be leaving after he was told rookie Desmond Ridder would be taking over as the team's starter.

“Those (conversations) are never easy,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said about benching Mariota. “You try to be truthful, whether they agree or not, those are the conversations you have to have.”

The Falcons are likely to place Mariota on injured reserve, but they are unsure when or if he'll rejoin the team. Additionally, Smith clarified Mariota's injury is "nothing that has been an issue this season."

Deebo Expected to Return Soon

The ankle and knee injuries suffered by wide receiver Deebo Samuel on Sunday aren't expected to keep him out for more than three weeks, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters. Samuel was carted off the field Sunday, and there was some fear he had suffered a major injury, so a three-week timeframe is good news for the 49ers.

Huntley Limited Participant

Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley was estimated to be a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough, NFL Media reported. Huntley suffered a concussion during the team's game against the Steelers on Sunday while filling in for Lamar Jackson, who is still out with a knee injury.

The limited designation is an indication Huntley might clear concussion protocol before the Ravens' Week 15 game against the Browns on Saturday. If he can't, it's likely undrafted free agent Anthony Brown will start in his place.

Beasley Signs With Buffalo

The Bills are signing wide receiver Cole Beasley to their practice squad, NFL Media reported. Beasley played three seasons with Buffalo, recording 231 catches in 28 starts.

He spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and had a brief, two-game stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this season. Beasley is a familiar, veteran weapon for quarterback Josh Allen and could be ready for action in time for the Bills' playoff run should the team call on him to step up.

Donald Still "Week to Week"

Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is still considered "week to week" with an ankle injury, coach Sean McVay told reporters. Donald hasn't played since Nov. 27 against the Chiefs, but he does get an extra day of rest this week since the Rams play Green Bay on Monday night.

Browns Lose Owusu-Koramoah for Year

Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will miss the remainder of the year after being placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury, NFL Media reported. The injury occurred during Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Owusu-Koramoah is the third Browns linebacker to see his season end prematurely due to injury, joining Sione Takitaki and Jacob Phillips.

Hankins Out for Year

The Cowboys will be without defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins for the rest of the 2022 NFL regular season, ESPN reported. The veteran defender could return in time for the playoffs, according to team owner Jerry Jones.

The Cowboys acquired Hankins right before the NFL trade deadline from the Raiders in exchange for a sixth-round pick.

Wormley Tears ACL

Steelers defensive end Chris Wormley tore his ACL against the Ravens on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season, coach Mike Tomlin told reporters.

Cardinals Waive Mullen, Sign Strong

The Cardinals waived cornerback Trayvon Mullen on Tuesday, NFL Media reported. This comes just one day after Mullen played 42 snaps in the team's loss to the Raiders. The conditional pick the Cardinals traded to the Raiders for Mullen will now be a seventh-rounder instead of a sixth-rounder.

Also, the Cardinals signed quarterback Carson Strong to their practice squad after a workout with the team on Tuesday, NFL Media reported. Strong will provide additional quarterback depth following Kyler Murray's ACL tear.

Eagles Sign Harris

The Eagles signed veteran safety Anthony Harris on Tuesday, ESPN reported. Harris is an eight-year NFL veteran, who played 14 games with the Eagles back in 2021 after spending the first six years of his career with the Vikings.

Philadelphia is a little short at safety after Reed Blankenship suffered a mild knee sprain on Sunday. The team is also missing C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who lead the league in interceptions before suffering a lacerated kidney.

Texans Waive Benjamin

The Houston Texans are waiving running back Eno Benjamin, ESPN reported. The move comes on the heels of the Texans' disappointing 27-23 loss at the hands of the in-state rival Dallas Cowboys. The team claimed Benjamin off of waivers after he was released by the Cardinals earlier this season.
