Eagles' Jordan Davis Out at Least Four Weeks

The Philadelphia Eagles placed defensive lineman Jordan Davis on injured reserve Wednesday, according to ESPN. The move means Davis will be out for at least the next four weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury. The former Georgia Bulldog was a first-round pick for the Eagles in the 2022 NFL Draft, going 13th overall.

Texans Rule Out WR Nico Collins, Brandin Cooks Questionable

The Houston Texans ruled out wide receiver Nico Collins, and listed fellow WR Brandin Cooks as questionable, for Thursday night's game against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN. The Texans' offense and quarterback Davis Mills were already thought to be outmatched against the No. 8 ranked defense by total points per game — a metric that attempts to approximate a unit's total value added  — according to Sports Info Solutions.

Cardinals Waive K Blankenship

Per Pro Football Focus, the Arizona Cardinals waived kicker Rodrigo Blankenship with an injury settlement. The Cardinals signed Blankenship to their practice squad on October 18, after Matt Prater's injury replacement Matt Ammendola struggled. Blankenship was elevated to the active roster ahead of Arizona's Week 7 tilt against the New Orleans Saints. He made both field goals in this game but missed an extra point. After this game, he reverted to the practice squad, and Prater returned to action against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8.

Toney Could See First Action for Kansas City

Newly acquired wide receiver Kadarius Toney "is healthy now" and should be in the mix for the Kansas City Chiefs offense on Sunday night against the Tennesee Titans, according to Andy Reid.

Toney, formerly of the New York Giants, was traded to the Chiefs last week for a third and sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He has struggled to stay on the field through the first two seasons of his NFL career, but has flashed incredible speed and athletic ability when on the field. This year, he only has 2 receptions for 0 yards, but last year, he finished second on the Giants in yards receiving (420).

Jonathan Taylor Misses Practice

Per ESPN, Indianapolis Colts' running back Jonathan Taylor will not practice today due to an ankle injury. Taylor has been dealing with this injury for weeks now. While playing through it this past week against the Washington Commanders, he apparently re-aggravated the injury but was able to stay in the game, rushing 16 times for 76 yards.

The Colts travel north this week to play the New England Patriots. They swapped running backs with the Buffalo Bills, trading Nyheim Hines for Zack Moss (and draft picks). If Taylor can't go, Moss and Deon Jackson should be Indianapolis' primary running backs.

Falcons Cordarrelle Patterson Designated to Return from IR

Per Pro Football Focus, Atlanta Falcons running back / wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has been designated to return from injured reserve and will practice today. Patterson last played in Week 4 in Atlanta's win over the Cleveland Browns, when he suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of the next four games.

The Falcons are currently perched atop the NFC South with a 4-4 record, coming off an exciting, high-scoring win over the Carolina Panthers. They face the Los Angeles Chargers at home this week before traveling to play the Panthers again on Thursday night.

Commanders' Owners Considering Sale

Washington Commanders' owners Dan and Tanya Snyder announced they hired BofA Securities to consider potential transactions around selling the team.

This comes not long after Indianapolis Colts' owner Jim Irsay made public comments about potentially removing Snyder's ownership of the Commanders at the NFL League Meetings earlier this month.

Watson Starting Right Away

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry told reporters on Tuesday quarterback Deshaun Watson will start the first game he's eligible to return from his 11-game suspension on Dec. 4 against his former team the Houston Texans.

Watson was suspended 11 games after the NFL and NFLPA came to a joint agreement in October following the NFL's investigation into the claims of 24 massage therapists who accused Watson of sexual assault.

Chase Young Designated to Return to Practice

The Washington Commanders designated edge rusher Chase Young to return to practice, NFL media reported.  Young now has 21 days to return to the active roster and play; if he doesn't, he will have to miss the rest of the season.

The Commanders are 4-4 but sit fourth in the NFC East. They are riding a three-game winning streak but face the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Players of the Week Announced

The NFL announced the AFC and NFC players of the week on Tuesday morning. In the NFC, newly acquired 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey won Offensive Player of the Week, Vikings pass rusher Za'Darius Smith won Defensive Player of the Week and Seahawks TE Will Dissly won Special Teams Player of the Week.
