Chargers' Jackson Dislocates Kneecap

Los Angeles was without cornerback J.C. Jackson for much of its Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks after he suffered a non-contact injury to his right knee in the second quarter. NFL Media reported it was a dislocated kneecap. The team is performing an MRI on Jackson to determine the extent of the damage, and how much time he could miss.

Injuries Keep Mounting for Chargers

Los Angeles has suffered a season's worth of injuries before even reaching the halfway point of the schedule. The Chargers lost star corner J.C. Jackson earlier in the game, and then in the fourth quarter, wide receiver Mike Williams had to be helped off the field after suffering an injury to his right ankle. Williams' ankle was caught under another player as he was brought down while bringing in a pass.

Texans' Offense Takes Late Hit

Houston saw a little injury added to insult in the second half of an eventual loss to the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday. Starting guard Kenyon Green, one of the team's first-round picks from this year's draft, suffered a shoulder injury, and the team deemed him questionable to return.

Metcalf Carted Off, Ruled Out

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was carted off the field and quickly ruled out with a knee injury in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Seahawks reported.

Coach Pete Carroll said X-rays were negative, but said Metcalf could miss time depending on MRI results.

Metcalf appeared to injure his knee after he made a jumping catch near the left front pylon. Metcalf's knee twisted when he landed out of bounds while making the catch. Metcalf is Seattle's second-leading receiver with 30 catches for 406 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Wilks Uncommitted on Starting QB

Carolina Panthers interim coach Steve Wilks said he's not sure PJ Walker will lose the starting quarterback job after Carolina's 21-3 win against Tampa Bay on Sunday. Walker, who started the year as a third-stringer, finished with 117 passing yards and two passing touchdowns in Sunday's win.

"PJ [Walker] had an outstanding performance," Wilks said. "We still gotta evaluate the tape, but it’s going to be hard to pull him out.”

Wilks' comments come on the same day it was reported both Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold could be ready to play next week after both recovering from ankle injuries. Mayfield started the team's first five games of the season, while Darnold suffered his ankle injury in Carolina's final preseason game against Buffalo.

Winfield Jr. Ruled Out

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers with a concussion, the Buccaneers reported.

Winfield Jr. is one of the Buccaneers' most impactful defensive players on the backend. This loss comes as the Buccaneers' defense has struggled to stop the Panthers, a team who traded their best offensive player on Thursday.

Bellinger Carted Off, Ruled Out

New York Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger was carted off the field late in the first half of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and later ruled out with an eye injury, the Giants reported. Bellinger was taken to a local hospital after he left the game.

Bellinger's left eye was bleeding and swollen while he was being carted to the locker room.

Neal Ruled Out

New York Giants offensive tackle Evan Neal was ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a knee injury, the Giants reported. Neal's injury is to his MCL, but he'll need more tests to determine the severity of the injury, NFL Media reported.

The Giants selected Neal with the seventh-overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He's done a solid job holding down the left tackle spot this season as the Giants have overachieved with a 5-1 record.

St. Brown Won't Return

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game with a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys, the Lions reported.

St. Brown took a hit over the middle of the field and was immediately taken off the field and into the Lions' medical tent. St. Brown has already missed two games with injuries this season.

Terrell Out for Game

Atlanta Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a hamstring injury, the Falcons reported.

Terrell came up limping after trying to cover Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase down the field. Terrell was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury during the week.
