Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring) left practice early on Thursday. Allen was a limited participant at practice, and was seen leaving early with a trainer.

Chargers QB Herbert (Ribs) Full Participant in Practice

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. Herbert suffered a rib injury in Sunday’s 38-10 loss to the Jaguars.

Lions' St. Brown (Ankle) Misses Second Straight Practice

Lions breakout wide receiver Amon-Ra St. (ankle) Brown missed practice for second straight day. St. Brown has 253 yards receiving and three touchdowns through three games this season.

Cook (Shoulder) Full Participant in Practice

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook (shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice. Cook suffered a shoulder injury in the Vikings' Week 3 wins against the Lions.

McCaffrey Misses Second Straight Practice

The Panthers were once again without star running back Christian McCaffrey in practice on Thursday, according to ESPN. The 2019 first-team All-Pro playmaker is dealing with a quad injury, and his status for the Panthers' upcoming game against the Cardinals on Sunday remains unclear.

NFL Announces Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Will Play Sunday Night in Tampa Bay as Scheduled

The NFL announced on Thursday that Sunday Night Football will go on as planned, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to NFL Media. There were worries that Hurricane Ian could force the league and teams to move the game as uncertainty about the hurricane's path and severity lingered. It's now clear, however, that Tom Brady will take on Patrick Mahomes under the lights as planned.

Saints QB Winston and WR Thomas Miss Practice

The Saints were without their starting quarterback and their No. 1 wide receiver in practice on Thursday, according to ESPN. The Saints take on the Vikings in London on Sunday for a Week 4 contest that could feature Andy Dalton under center. Dalton is the presumptive replacement should Winston miss the game due to injury.

Bengals' DT Reader Placed on IR

The Bengals placed defensive tackle D.J. Reader on injured reserve Thursday, according to ESPN. Reader suffered a knee injury in the team's loss to the Jets in Week 3 and is expected to miss extended time as he recovers. The Bengals take on the undefeated Dolphins in primetime Thursday, and the defending AFC champs will now be without a key starter in the front seven going forward.

NFL Announces Players of Month for September

The NFL on Thursday announced the Players of the Month for September. In the NFC, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named Offensive Player of the Month, Tampa Bay linebacker Devin White was named Defensive Player of the Month and 49ers punter Mitch Wishnowsky was chosen as Special Teams Player of the Month. In the AFC, meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named Offensive Player of the Month, while Miami edge rusher Melvin Ingram and Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend were named Defensive Player of the Month and Special Teams Player of the Month, respectively. The league also announced the Rookies of Month for both conferences. Saints receiver Chris Olave was the winner in the NFC, while in the AFC, the award went to Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd.

Tagovailoa Set to Play for Dolphins Thursday Night

Despite carrying a questionable designation through the week, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is set to start Thursday Night, according to NFL Media. Tagovailoa had been dealing with back and ankle issues that put his playing status into question for Week 4. Two other crucial pieces of the Dolphins' offense, receiver Jaylen Waddle (groin) and left tackle Terron Armstead (toe), should likewise be cleared to play.
