Bengals' RT Collins out for Season

Cincinnati right tackle La'el Collins tore his ACL and MCL against the Patriots, despite the initial belief he avoided a more serious injury during the team's Christmas Eve game, USA Today reported.

Collins was hurt in the first quarter of the contest, which initially appeared to be a serious injury. However, it was reported later by NFL Media he avoided an ACL tear. After suffering the injury, Collins did indeed pass his initial test but later testing discovered the tear. Even Collins himself expressed his belief he avoided something more serious. The recovery timeline for an ACL tear could set him up for a potential return for the 2023 preseason or early in the regular season.

NFL Flexes Ravens-Steelers to Sunday Night

The NFL is making a change to Sunday Night Football by flexing out the Chargers-Rams matchup and moving the Ravens-Steelers into the spot, ESPN reported.

The matchup change comes on the heels of the Dolphins losing on Sunday, dropping their record to 8-7 and holding onto the final wildcard spot. The Steelers are one of four teams with a 7-8 record who remain in the playoff race and are coming off a win on Christmas Eve against the Raiders. Meanwhile, the Ravens are also coming off a win and are chasing the Bengals who hold a one-game lead over them for the division title.

The Bengals and Ravens play each other in the final week of the season which could decide the division.
