NFL Week 10 News & Notes

Saturday, Nov. 12

Rams vs. Cardinals Could be Battle of Backups

The Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals could be starting their backup quarterbacks on Sunday, ESPN reported. John Wolford is expected to start in place of Matthew Stafford, who entered concussion protocol late in the week, "barring a drastic change."

Kyler Murray is going to test his hamstring injury pregame, but there is "skepticism" about whether he'll be capable of playing. Colt McCoy would start in Murray's place if he can't play.

Tannehill, Burks Will Return

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill is likely to play after missing the last two games with an ankle injury, NFL Media reported. He is officially listed as questionable, but Tannehill practiced fully on Thursday.

The Titans also get their first-round pick wide receiver back on Saturday. Treylon Burks was activated off of injured reserve today and is set to play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Steelers' Fitzpatrick Out Multiple Weeks

Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is expected to miss multiple weeks after undergoing an appendectomy at the conclusion of the team's walkthrough on Saturday, ESPN reported.

Initial reporting indicated Fitzpatrick would at least miss Sunday's game vs. the Saints. He has 45 tackles and three interceptions this season.

Signs Point Toward Allen Playing vs. Vikings

The Buffalo Bills elected not to elevate a third quarterback off the practice squad ahead of their matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, suggesting they expect quarterback Josh Allen to be available. Whether he starts are not is still up in the air.

Allen has been limited in practice this week due to a UCL injury he suffered against the Jets in Week 9. He practiced for the first time this week, on a limited basis, on Friday.

Broncos Will Miss Star Safety

Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons won't play in the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Benjamin Allbright of KOA Colorado reported.

Simmons was listed as questionable with a knee injury on Friday, but it appears he'll be out after all. P.J. Locke is expected to start in Simmons' place.

Dotson Active for MNF

Washington Commanders' rookie WR Jahan Dotson will return from injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, NFL media reported.

Dotson missed the previous five games after suffering a hamstring injury against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. Up to that point, he recorded 12 catches for 152 yards and four touchdowns. Despite his absence, Dotson still leads all rookie wide receivers in receiving TDs.

The Commanders, sitting a 4-5 and last in the NFC East, will attempt to be the first team to defeat the 8-0 Eagles on Monday night.
