Ryan Interviews for Broncos' Job

Former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan interviewed for the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator job on Saturday, ESPN reported. Ryan has reportedly told ESPN he'd only leave “for the perfect situation.”

Ryan rose to prominence as a defensive coach with the Baltimore Ravens for a decade, parlaying that success into an eight-year head coaching career in the AFC East. His first six seasons came with the Jets, during which he led the team to the AFC Championship game in his first two seasons.

After being fired in New York, Ryan was hired by the Bills two weeks later, lasting two seasons there before being dismissed. Since his departure from Buffalo, Ryan has worked as an analyst for ESPN.

Another candidate for the job is Vance Joseph, who served as the Broncos' head coach from 2017-18. He was the Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator from 2019-22.

Cardinals Hire Coordinators

New Arizona Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon is moving quickly to fill up his staff.

He's reportedly hired former Philadelphia Eagles linebackers coach Nick Rallis as his defensive coordinator and former Cleveland Browns quarterbacks coach Drew Petzing as his offensive coordinator.

Both coordinators are quite young. Rallis is just 29 and Petzing is 35, which combined with Gannon, who is 40, gives the Cardinals one of the younger NFL coaching staffs.
