George Fant Moved to RT

After the injury to Becton and the signing of Duane Brown, this was the likely move for the Jets, and head coach Robert Saleh made it official after practice on Sunday. Fant has experienced on both sides, while Brown has predominately been a left tackle throughout his career. In fact, they played in these exact roles while with the Seahawks together. Fant played on the right side last season with the Jets, starting opposite of Becton when healthy.

Jets Dealing With More Offensive Tackle Injuries

The New York Jets have already dealt with injuries, most notably the season-ending knee injury to Mekhi Becton. Now, another tackle is dealing with an injury. Chuma Edoga is working through one during practice on Sunday, as he is limping on the sidelines.

Browns Lose Starting Center Nick Harris for the Year

After getting carted off the field on Friday night, Nick Harris appears to be done for the 2022 season. Coach Kevin Stefanski told the media on Saturday that he is going to require knee surgery which will end his year. Harris was expected to take over for J.C. Tretter, who the team let go of this past offseason. The Browns have Ethan Pocic starting in the meantime with rookie Brock Hoffman backing him up. No word yet on the team looking at the free agent market, which includes Tretter.

Bengals' Wyatt Hubert Retires

After tearing his pectoral muscle last offseason, it now appears that Wyatt Hubert is calling it a career in football. A seventh-round pick out of Kansas, Hubert would sign a four-year deal with the Bengals but never played a down for the team. He would miss his entire rookie season and now retires the following year as training camp ramps up. Hubert can look back on a strong college career that saw him become a two-time All-Big 12 player as well as a freshman All-American.

Antonio Brown Tells Cowboys, "Call Me"

AB to the Dallas Cowboys?

NFL free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown was last seen walking off the field in the middle of a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the New York Jets and has not been connected to any NFL teams since that point, but when a TMZ roving reporter caught up with him, he told the cameras, "Tell Jerry Jones to call me!"

The Cowboys are thin at wide receiver after an injury to free agent pickup James Washington. In 2021, Brown had 42 catches for 545 yards and four touchdowns.

Kirk Cousins to Miss Preseason Opener Due to COVID-19

Kirk Cousins will have to wait a little longer to get a taste of the new Vikings' offense in a live game. The Vikings signal-caller is going to miss the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday due to a positive COVID-19 test on Friday. The team will now lean on Kellen Mond and Sean Mannion to unveil the new offense that has fans and players raving. Cousins is expected to be back and able to play in the team's second preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Tutu Atwell and Ben Skowronek Battle for WR3 in Rams Offense

Van Jefferson is out for the time being with a knee injury and his week one status and beyond remains in limbo. During the Rams training camp though, two receivers have seemingly stepped up in his place. Second-year receivers Tutu Atwell and Ben Skowronek both have been excelling at camp. According to Jourdan Rodrigue of the Athletic, Atwell has been a "riser" in camp with Skowronek being the more "every down player".

Deshaun Watson Proposes Eight-Game Ban

The Associated Press is reporting Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson is proposing an eight-game ban and a $5 million fine to avoid missing the entire season. The NFL has been adamant about seeking at least a one-year ban as a part of Watson’s punishment. It is important to note that Watson is set to make just north of $1 million this season. This compromise adds two games to his suspension and takes more money out of his bank account.

Jets Sign OT Duane Brown

After the likely season-ending injury to OT Mekhi Becton, the New York Jets signed five-time Pro Bowl OT Duane Brown. The Jets reached a two year, $22 million deal with Brown earlier today. The Jets are entering a pivotal year for the development of QB Zach Wilson, and Brown will be a key contributor to keeping him healthy and on the field.

Cousins Sent Home With Illness

Kirk Cousins was sent home from Vikings practice today with an illness. It is unclear if the illness is Covid-19. Cousins missed one game with Covid-19 last season and will be required to isolate for five days if he tests positive.

Garoppolo Trade Unlikely?

Ian Rapoport joined the Pat McAfee show and discussed the 49ers’ options with Jimmy Garoppolo. “I still don’t see a path where Jimmy G gets traded… the next big decision is will the 49ers carry him on the roster,” said Rapoport. Rapoport also mentioned the possibility of a playoff contender trading for him during the season if its starter goes down. A possible landing spot could be the Cleveland Browns if Deshaun Watson’s suspension is extended.

Jameson Williams Officially out for Week 1

After tearing his ACL in the National Championship Game against Georgia, there was a question about when Williams would play in his first NFL game. That will not be in Week 1, as the Lions have officially ruled him out. There is no public timetable on his return, but it will be worth monitoring, as Williams could start on the PUP list.

James White Retires

After a successful nine-year career with the New England Patriots, James White has decided to retire. A fourth-round pick out of the University of Wisconsin, White is best known for being Tom Brady's safety blanket in the passing game and scoring the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons.

Tom Brady to be Absent for a Few Days

The Buccaneers will be without their future Hall of Fame quarterback for the next few days. Brady will be attending to a personal matter that the team is well aware of, and Brady has his support. Brady will miss Saturday night's preseason game against the Miami Dolphins and will be away from the team for at least 10 days. That also means he'll miss the team's preseason game against the Titans.

Dolphins-Texans Trade Falls Through

Dolphins TE Adam Shaheen failed his physical and will revert back to Miami. The Dolphins would have received a 2023 sixth-round pick in exchange for TE Adam Shaheen and a 2023 seventh-round pick.

Deshaun Watson to Start Preseason Opener

Despite all of the controversy surrounding him, Deshaun Watson is scheduled to start the Browns’ preseason opener against the Jaguars on Friday. It will be interesting to see how much playing time he receives, and how that affects Jacoby Brissett.

Bears Remove Roquan Smith From PUP List

The Chicago Bears have removed Roquan Smith from the PUP list. Smith will remain out of practice as he is “holding in” due to contractual issues. It is important to note that Smith recently requested a trade from the Bears after expressing his frustrations with the negotiation process.

Melvin Gordon out With Foot Injury

Melvin Gordon missed practice today to be evaluated for a foot injury. Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett addressed the matter lightheartedly by saying, “We’re just taking care of his foot… he’s another one of those older guys - we want to make sure he’s primed and ready for the season.” For the time being, it appears Gordon’s foot is nothing to worry about.

Robert Hainsey Carted Off... "Just Cramps"

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were without the top two centers on their depth chart after Robert Hainsey went down in practice today. Hainsey was helped to the cart, but it appears the Bucs have avoided the worst. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Hainsey was simply dealing with cramps. The Bucs lost starting center Ryan Jensen to an injury earlier in camp, and some expected Hainsey to be his replacement going forward.

Gabe Davis Primed to Breakout?

Multiple sources have made it clear that wide receiver Gabe Davis has been a standout performer at Buffalo Bills camp. Davis is headed into his third NFL season after being selected in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In each of his first two seasons in the league, Davis has caught at least 30 passes, with no less than 540 yards receiving and six touchdowns. He’ll look to provide superstar QB Josh Allen a reliable target opposite All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs.
