Patriots Re-Signing Mills

The New England Patriots are re-signing defensive back Jalen Mills to a one-year deal worth up to $6.1 million, theScore reported on Wednesday. The Patriots are also interested in moving Mills back to the safety position after having started him in 26 games at cornerback over the last two seasons in New England. In 2020, Mills started 15 games at safety for the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he spent the first five seasons of his career.

The Patriots are likely hoping Mills can help fill the void sure to be left by retired DB Devin McCourty. The 35-year-old anchored New England's secondary for 13 professional seasons without ever missing more than two games in an individual season.

Raiders sign TE Hooper

Tight end Austin Hooper has signed sign a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, the team announced.

Last season with Tennessee, Hooper had 41 catches for 444 yards and two touchdowns. He will be part of the team's effort to replaced the traded Darren Waller.

Texans Sign LB Perryman

The Houston Texans will sign former Raiders LB Denzel Perryman to a one-year contract, NFL Media reports. The former Pro Bowler had 154 tackles in 2021 and 14 tackles for loss last year.

Walker to Return to Browns

Free agent linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., has agreed to return to the Cleveland Browns on a one-year contract, ESPN reported.

Jaguars Add RB Johnson

The Jacksonville Jaguars have reached agreement on a one-year deal with free agent running back D’Ernest Johnson, ESPN reported. Johnson spent the first four years of his career with the Cleveland Browns.
