Tannehill, Foreman Affordable Week 14 DFS Options

We’re approaching the most important part of the NFL season and fans are asking the essential questions. Will all four NFC East teams make the playoffs? Can the Browns find any success on offense with Deshaun Watson as QB? What will a Brock Purdy-led offense look like in San Francisco? The entire postseason hangs in the balance and at this point nothing would be surprising. However the most important question NFL fans should be asking is which cheap DFS players will over-perform in Week 14? I’ve got the answers:

Ryan Tannehill ($5,200)

The last two weeks have been tough for Tannehill and the Titans. They lost back-to-back games to the Bengals and Eagles, as Tannehill only threw for one total touchdown between those two games. This probably explains why his DraftKings price is just $5,200. This week, however, will be much easier for the Titans. They are hosting the Jaguars, who have allowed 27+ points in five of their six away games this season.

It is reasonable to have concerns about Tannehill’s receiving corps, with Treylon Burks out for this game. But we saw Tannehill get this offense going early in the season before Burks was a key part of the offense. The Titans have also incorporated both Dontrell Hillard and Derrick Henry into their passing offense. It may not be the most attractive pick you’ve ever made, but the matchup is just too good to pass on Tannehill at this price point.

D’Onta Foreman ($5,400)

D’Onta Foreman has been extremely hit or miss recently. In his last six games he has rushed for 113+ yards four times, but he has also rushed for less than 25 yards twice. Saying that Foreman is a risky player to draft would be putting it lightly. However this week, I’m willing to take that risk. The Panthers are coming off a bye and playing a game that they must win to stay in the playoff picture. Foreman has been their best weapon on offense and, with all of Carolina’s QB woes, they are best served keeping the ball on the ground.

On top of all that, Seattle’s run defense has been atrocious this season. They have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. Taking all of these factors into consideration, it seems fair to say that Foreman is poised to have a great game. We have already seen Foreman play at an elite level this year; earlier this season he had a three-touchdown performance against Atlanta in a game that Carolina somehow still managed to lose. This week Carolina hopes to earn a better outcome. Playing against the Seattle run defense with the season on the line, Foreman’s $5,400 price tag is insulting.

Michael Gallup ($4,600)

The Cowboys' offense has been extraordinary this season, and it seems like that trend is set to continue for them this week against Houston. A big part of Dallas’ success has been the return of Michael Gallup. He showed a lot of promise last year, but was unable to have a breakout season since he was playing behind both Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Now that Cooper is gone, Gallup has a much bigger role.

In fact, he is averaging 6.4 targets per game in his last five games. Last week he had one of his biggest performances of the season, finding the end zone twice. Things seem to be headed in the right direction for Gallup, and the Texans' defense will struggle to put that to a halt. Gallup is one of Dak Prescott's favorite targets in the red zone this season. As 17-point favorites, Dallas should find itself in position to score plenty of times throughout this game. At $4,600, Gallup’s upside is too good to ignore with the amount of opportunities he should be getting throughout this game.

There are plenty of things to look forward to this week. Many teams on the outs still believe they have a shot at making the playoffs and are fighting for their lives. Crazy things do happen in the NFL, and almost any team could sneak its way into the playoffs. Well, except for the Texans. This will be a good week, sit back and enjoy the games as you watch the playoff picture get smaller and your wallet get bigger.
